Been trying to set up my iPhone 15 and went through instructions. Stuck on the 'Sign in with your iCloud Apple ID. Now it's got spinning icon with no info. I have a lot of DATA on my iPhone 13 pro max - is this the reason? been nearly 2 hours so far....
I've seen reports of problems with the setup.
What could help is to go through the setup agent without signing in or restoring data, then update the iPhone 15 to iOS 17.0.2, reset it to factory settings and then do the proper setup with signing in and restoring.
Since your iPhone is stuck, I would recommend a hard reboot: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (MY)
That will probably end up in an unsuccessful setup which lets you then proceed as described above. After two hours, I would not expect the migration to recover itself even when the amount of data is high.
Also, make sure, your old iPhone is on the latest version of iOS.

"Pushed up on the top button on the left hand side"? Can you please elaborate? There is no button on the left side of the iPhone 15 you can push up. I'm trying the other suggestion of updating my previous iPhone to IOS 17.
Well it’s now April 2024 and I’m having the same issue. I was thinking maybe it might be because I have so much data. Glad I checked here after 3 hours at 2nd attempt.
13PM to 15 PM. No help from pushing buttons. 13 PM is updated. I attempted to update 15, not sure if it took. I guess it’s time to pull out the MacBook.

It is becoming super frustrating, bur seing your comments here gives me a little hope.
i got I phone 15 plus and is being 5 hours signing in , is rolling and showing me all the icons music app,message, iCloud, find my iPhone icons
this is too small for apple products expect the value is dropping down
i think they should be a better way of signing in when you have a new apple phone with out stress.
I could not make use of phone since 7 am till is shame for me
please I think the experts should find a way fastest way of getting it done.

I tried to set up my new pro max 15 3 times, using my current t pro max 14 twice and the iCloud once. Now I can use my iPhone to talk on the phone on the 15 but not the 14. I can search my calendar on the 14 but not the 15. What is the big issue here? I’m ready to send the 15 back!
I have exactly the same problem with my iphone 15 pro , this is most unlike Apple normally the transfer process is quick and painless, not happy .
