iPhone 15 Pro not charging

Brand new right out of the box (No damage or foreign objects in charging port) I just updated it and transferred my data from my iPhone 12 and none of my cables or charging boxes / PC will charge my phone.. But when its off if I plug it in it will turn the phone on but still not charge. My wireless charger will charge it and Yes tried different charging cables, force reset, checked for any debris in the charging port.. Basically everything they told me to do to troubleshoot it..

Try a Forced Restart:

  • Press and quickly release volume up button
  • Then immediately press and quickly release volume down button
  • Then immediately press and KEEP HOLDING the side power button. KEEP HOLDING it past the swipe to power off and KEEP holding it until you see the Apple Logo, then let go

See if you can charge your iPhone after you sign back in with your Passcode.

I had the same problem. But my 15 pro was charging perfectly fine the first week with my 65w Samsung brick then the iPhone just decided it wasn’t going to charge. I switched it to an Apple cable and brick and still did not charge. Then the thing that fixed it was restarting the phone (I also kept the Apple cable and brick to charge it, and now the Samsung charging block doesn’t work to charge my phone) but it’s charging perfectly fine now

Here is the combo that worked for me. This is the 2nd 15pro that I have that has now experience this issue. The solve was the above + Plus the following steps:

  • Hard Reset
  • Shutting off the Battery Optimization
  • Shutting off Green Energy

I spent 2 days in an apple store and their solution was to replace the phone after not finding a solve. Two half days of my life I will not get back that they don't have a solve for. The above solution has worked on my second phone this morning and it is now charging the way it should.

My 15 Pro Max did charge to 65% a couple of times before it stopped. I did a forced restart several times on my iPhone, but it still wouldn’t charge. I finally changed my battery charging optimization to none. Bingo - I have no problem charging now. FYI - I am using an Anker 20W USB C power strip with my Apple MagSafe, but it does not charge my iPhone and iPad at the same time, which isn’t really a problem for me.

You're welcome. TBH, I haven't plugged my phone into charge since MagSafe arrived. It was your post which got me to even try plugging either of our new phones into a plug. It is odd it will work in your car, charges wireless, but won't in your house. I know this may sound odd, but can you go somewhere other than your house with a cable and the Anker Nano and plug it in to see if it charges?

I had the same problem initially and posted about it… I have been able to charge on my MagSafe charger. That first night plugging it in with an Apple, USB-C adapter and the USB-C cord that came with the phone, when I plugged it in it would not indicate charging at all. I let it set for 15 minutes and eventually it did indicate that it was charging. So maybe it just takes a few minutes to show that it’s charging?

The USB C port on this one does not work to charge my iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max

USB A works but NOT USB C.

USB C works with older phones such as XR and 12 using USB C to Lightning but not USB C to USB C on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
