iPhone 15 overheating

Hi everyone. I’ve recently purchased the new iPhone 15 pro max and it is heating up even when I’m not using it.

I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it maybe a setting that is causing it that I can turn off?

Any advice is appreciated. :)

For all of you:

Do a simple Forced Restart on your new iPhone by:

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button
  • Then immediately press and quickly release the volume down button
  • Then immediately press and KEEP HOLDING the side power button and KEEP HOLDING it past the swipe to shut down and KEEP HOLDING it until the Apple Logo appears, then let go

Sign back in with your passcode when the phone prompt you and let the phone settle down over the next couple days. If you transferred a LOT of data, it can days for the indexing process to complete. There is likely NOTHING wrong with your phones.

I think someone at Verizon has lied to you. Out of curiosity, I went to the Verizon site and tried to see when I could get an iPhone 15 Pro Max, Titanium Blue 512GB as a new customer and was offered two day delivery. I'd elevate this higher with Verizon. A guy in my office got his 15 Pro from Verizon today.

BTW., I own iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. We have experienced, no, none, zip, nadda heating issues. NONE.

Hey, let’s take lemons and make handwarmers out of them. We got very cold weather coming up in the northern area of the country real cold weather coming I think I’ll make a few phone calls while I’m outside just to get my hands warm.

All kidding aside, I was told by a very reliable source not to do wireless CarPlay and charge of the same time. They were able to make a nice breakfast on the top of their phone while doing so, fried eggs and bacon. lol anyways, I noticed that when I’m in my car on my 14 Pro Max navigating wirelessly and playing music. My phone does get hot. I can imagine the new one will get even hotter.

My iPhone 15 pro still gets uncomfortably hot. It finished indexing yesterday and it’s still an issue. If their solution is to reduce the performance of the phone will there be the option of a full refund even if this solution comes outside of the 14 day window?

Apple needs to offer full replacement as well once the fix is in. By their own admission elevated temperatures above 98 can permanently damage the battery of your phone. Batteries - Maximizing Performance - Apple

Well, seems that a few people doesn´t have any issues at all with the heating while others have, so it´s very hard to decide if I want to buy it or not. I might have luck, but if not, then I´m out of phone for a long time, and that´s not an option.

When I contact the delivery shop here (Telia) were I shall pick up my new phone when it arrives, all they say is that there are no issues at all with it, but they of course just want to sell and don´t give a dam if I get issues with it or not.

Like I said before, I do hope that Apple reads this and takes responsibility for it and fix it. I guess they don´t want another Samsung issue on their hands...

I have a fix!

ALWAYS use your phone in the refrigerator and never ever use it outside of it.

Problem solved!

Seriously this MUST be an issue that Apple knows about! Hopefully it´s only software related and can be fixed with an update, but if it´s hardware related, then Apple is in trouble, not so much trouble that Samsung were in when their phones started to burn, but pretty close to, and this can for sure bring down the sales of the 15 Pro and Pro Max models.

Anyone know if Apple monitor this place or if you can contact Apple in other ways than through their Apple Stores? If I go in to a Apple Store, they will just wave it away like there is no problems with it.

Totally. I was in the Apple Store yesterday and they told me, that they dont know anything about these problems (overheating, battery draining), and they sold out few 15 Pro/Pro Max and nobody didnt complain. And the know nothing about these issues.. So “funny”… I was planning to buy 15 Pro, but now I rather wait when (if) will Apple solve these problems… people expect more for that price… and I havent noticed any official statement from Apple.

I got my iPhone 15 Pro on launch day. It's wonderful! Battery life is great. I highly recommend it.

and I havent noticed any official statement from Apple.

And you won't see one here in this user-to-user forum.

There is no link because there has been no statement from Apple. But Apple rarely if ever comments on things it may be working on, so you shouldn't be surprised. Apple has a storied history of working on things and when ready, releasing an update, which makes topics like this a non-issue. But don't expect to see a formal statement as you'll likely be waiting forever.
