iPhone does not ring with incoming calls after updating to iOS 17

FIRST: Are there missed calls in Phone/Recents on the phone? If they are not the problem is in the network, because the calls aren’t getting to your phone. Contact your carrier: 

• check with your carrier that they don’t have a local outage, and that you didn’t have any settings that would have immediately invoked voicemail, such as call forwarding.
• check up on them at Down Detector - Crowdsourced outage checker

If they are in Recents here’s what to check:

• Check the MUTE switch on the left side of the phone, above the volume buttons. It should be towards the screen
• Check the volume setting. With the Home screen displayed, press the VOLUME UP button on the left side of the phone. It’s above the VOLUME DOWN button.
• Go to Settings/Phone. There’s a switch for Silence Unknown Callers. If it is on any calls from numbers not in your contacts will go directly to voicemail.
  • If you keep it on, in Settings/Phone make sure Dial Assist is enabled; it is needed to accurately match an incoming call to a contact.
  • Remember that banks, doctors and other professionals may not call you from the same number that you have in your contacts for them.
• Also in Settings/Phone: Make sure Call Forwarding is off.
• Make sure Do Not Disturb is off:
  • Open the Control Center and turn off the button next to the word Focus.
• Go to Settings/Sounds & Haptics. Make sure there is a sound assigned to Ringtone.
• Go to Settings/Accessibility/Touch/Call Audio Routing and make sure Auto-Answer Calls is off.
• Go to Settings/Screen Time/Communications Limits. Tap each of the 2 entries and make sure both are “Everyone"
• Restart your phone-->Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
• If all else fails, talk your carrier into replacing your SIM card (thanks to ASC user DShelbyD)

Don’t count on Apple fixing it, because it is highly unlikely that it is a glitch in iOS 17, as over a million users have been beta testing it for the past 4 months, and that has not been a reported problem. Use the Support link at the top or bottom of this page to seek help from Apple.

Because a zero-day vulnerability was reported a few days ago.

Having the same issue with no ring on incoming calls. Have iPhone 15 and also upgraded to IOS 17. Agree there appears to be a software glitch

Or maybe you need to troubleshoot the problem with YOUR PHONE, as it is not a problem with my phone and millions of other iPhones.

my phone just recently updated. I have the 12 pro max. And I’m having this same issue. I’ve tried ALL the recommended troubleshooting. Have you had any resolution to the issue as of yet?

I have no idea what you consider ALL of the recommended troubleshooting, but rather than ask what you tried, does ALL include the following:

  • If it doesn’t ring just when driving either go to Settings/Focus/Driving and delete it
• Go to Settings/Sounds & Haptics. Make sure there is a sound assigned to Ringtone.
• Go to Settings/Accessibility/Touch/Call Audio Routing and make sure Auto-Answer Calls is off.
• Go to Settings/Screen Time/Communications Limits. Tap each of the 2 entries and make sure both are “Everyone"
• Restart your phone-->Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I did everything on this list. And to no avail. What I did notice is that the phone would ring when an unknown number called me. Which was weird because in settings the "Silence Unknown Callers" was off. So I went into settings changed that to "on" and then boom, the phone calls started to come through. I can't silence unknown calls though. I get important calls from unknown numbers. I'll keep playing around with it until I can get it to work.

I am also facing the same issue. I have also gone through the troubleshooting steps and can't seem to figure out how to fix the issue. I have missed a lot of important calls because of this and seems like it might be an ios issue.

Since I updated to 17.1.1 i haven’t received anycalls
