My iPhone 13 Pro Max after update to iOS 17.0.1 has been rendered totally useless. I can’t believe I have a useless phone. The battery drain after this update is lightening speed drain. My battery lasted all day with use. Now if it last a couple of hours I’m lucky. What can I do. This is unacceptable. I can’t believe apple did this.

I think i've found the cause of my iPhone's battery drain. I've used iphones the last 5 years. I always charge my phone overnight using the 5 watt apple charger. During those 5 years the phone was always fully charged in the morning, I didn't pay attention anymore (I always used adaptive charging as soon as it was part of the OS, btw, battery health after 6 months 14 pro is 100%)

Since IOS 17 a fully charged phone in the morning isn't obvious anymore. More than once my phone only charged to 60 to 70% but I didn't notice that. I looked like massive battery drain when my phone was on power reserve, late afternoon. I'm trying to find out if adaptive charging and not setting an alarm has something to do with this problem.

Which is completely ridiculous in my opinion.

They're getting a payout because Apple throttled the performance of their phones when they detected the battery was not capable of supplying the power that was being demanded by running processes in order to prevent a complete shutdown.

I guess they would have been happier if their phones just crashed and spontaneously shutdown while they were in the middle of things...

I think determining whether an iOS has affected your battery life depends on the individuals usage. I updated to iOS 17 last night. Before that my battery lasted me through 3/4 of the day. I have done nothing different today. Just my average usage that I do every day, which shows my screen time and my battery did not last me even half the day. So yes, iOS17 has been draining my battery much quicker.
