My iPhone 13 Pro Max after update to iOS 17.0.1 has been rendered totally useless. I can’t believe I have a useless phone. The battery drain after this update is lightening speed drain. My battery lasted all day with use. Now if it last a couple of hours I’m lucky. What can I do. This is unacceptable. I can’t believe apple did this.
Same for me. I’ve checked screen usage statistics before and after ios 17 which was better before the upgrade
1% of my battery drains in like every 10 mins.
My phone is still under warranty. It is just 2.5 months old.
Will they replace it? And even if they will replace it, will it really help me?
Happened to my iPhone 13 Pro Max as well. I just updated my phone last night and today (started using my phone at 7 AM) the battery only had 25% by 11. Nothing different in my usage

Same for me, that is frustrating.

Is there any way to go back to previous IOS version ?
No.
same here, I contacted support in regards to this issue and they are trying to sell me a new battery for 120 dollars
Apple - when will fix be provided for batter drain issues? I like many others have lost battery performance after 17.3.1 on my 13 max pro. How about a response?
How long has it been since you upgraded? There is quite a bit of housekeeping that needs to take place after the upgrade. You should give it several days to settle out before making any kind of judgement on battery life.
It seems we got ios 17.0.3 now. It mentioned that the battery heat issue fixed. Not sure it will fix our battery drain issue or not.
I’m so sad that apple is not taking care of older models. Older phones getting slower and drainer more. 😢😢
I think i've found the cause of my iPhone's battery drain. I've used iphones the last 5 years. I always charge my phone overnight using the 5 watt apple charger. During those 5 years the phone was always fully charged in the morning, I didn't pay attention anymore (I always used adaptive charging as soon as it was part of the OS, btw, battery health after 6 months 14 pro is 100%)
Since IOS 17 a fully charged phone in the morning isn't obvious anymore. More than once my phone only charged to 60 to 70% but I didn't notice that. I looked like massive battery drain when my phone was on power reserve, late afternoon. I'm trying to find out if adaptive charging and not setting an alarm has something to do with this problem.
It can and does happen. It happened to me then, at which time Apple replaced my battery for a deeply discounted price.
It just happened again after installing iOS 17.0.3, now to my 13 Pro Max. What to do this time?
only for earlier iPhones will this pay out apply to. "Each plaintiff is set to receive between $65 to $90, depending on the number of claims submitted. Owners of iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus and SE models running iOS 10.2.1 or later and iPhone 7 and 7 Plus running iOS 11.2 or later before Dec. 21, 2017, could be eligible for the payout".

Which is completely ridiculous in my opinion.
They're getting a payout because Apple throttled the performance of their phones when they detected the battery was not capable of supplying the power that was being demanded by running processes in order to prevent a complete shutdown.
I guess they would have been happier if their phones just crashed and spontaneously shutdown while they were in the middle of things...
Updated to iOS as recommended before replacing battery. Now battery drains worse than before. I’ve done all recommended ‘fixes’ to conserve battery drain. Nothing works. Now I see that many others have same problem. Apple NEEDS to fix this!
I think determining whether an iOS has affected your battery life depends on the individuals usage. I updated to iOS 17 last night. Before that my battery lasted me through 3/4 of the day. I have done nothing different today. Just my average usage that I do every day, which shows my screen time and my battery did not last me even half the day. So yes, iOS17 has been draining my battery much quicker.
