After updating to iOS 17 apps on my iPhone freeze regularly

Same issue here on my iphone and my ipad. Hopefully, they squash the bug soon. It is taking away from much productivity. I can’t even fully interact with apps. I was using a PDF app earlier today and it would freeze completely when I would press the share icon; you know to share an extremely important document that needed to get filed by today. Nerve racking at its core.

Many apps freeze constantly. Apple Messages & the Google suite of products, gmail sheets are the worst offenders

I just updated my phone to 17.1 yesterday. Pokemon GO keeps freezing every time after few minutes and other games I tried do exactly the same. So bothering. I wish I could downgrade back. ;(

This just started happening to me and at the same time my iPhone 15 starts heating up and the battery is drained quickly while the apps stop working. Anyone bring their phones into the Genius Bar?

My new 15 Pro Max is very disappointing.

it freezes, it spontaneously scrolls, and it drops its WiFi connection. If iOS 17.4 doesn’t fix it, I may just replace it (and “take a bath”)

Happens in apple built in apps as well. Terrible response.

Like come on my iOS app I made I ran it on my phone and it froze and I have a iPhone 13 with iOS 17.4

I mostly have been having the issue with Safari on my phone. That should be up to date.

Same issue here. I’m on 17.4.1 on 14 Pro and frequent freeze ups on Messages (when trying to open a thread) and Gmail (when opening an email).

The same has been happening with me. It is pretty much a daily occurrence. It appears that the apps don’t exactly freeze but they just stop receiving touch input.

Other than restarting the app, another solution I have found is through some combination of switching foreground applications and locking the phone. Sometimes I need to do only one of the two and other times I need to do both.

I would’ve expected 17.1 to have fixed the issue but sadly no.

April now and just starting to experience this on an iPhone 11 on iOS 17.3.1, 70% maximum battery capacity. Apps just freeze as soon as I enter them and all I can do is swipe out of them. I sure wish Apple would get their **** together.
