iPhone 15 Pro Max Wi-Fi Issues

I Hope apple or others can help me out - I’m having issues with WiFi on the IPhone 15 Pro Max

myself and others are having issues with using WiFi and 160hz - many have raised issues on Reddit posts - some cannot connect to there WiFi at all and others can connect like myself but have random issues with no internet from time to time

Mines working on 5GHz 160hz, but sometimes I’ll just have no internet connection (it’s still connected to the WiFi) - I have to disconnect from the WiFi and connect again for it to work.

I’m using ASUS RT-AX82U - 5GHz allowed Upto 160hz - I’m running 1gig internet so last thing I want to do is try running at 80hz as I’ll loose speed

When it does work it works great 😊

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP APPLE

2.4 band works fine as a stop gap. Not ideal solution but it has been stable for over 24 hours.

I engaged support again today and finally got someone to acknowledge that this is a known, systematic issue and that they are working on a fix. There was, of course, no ETA or indication of how the fix will be issued.

From support chat:

We are further investigating this and please do rest assure that we are all working and looking for a best possible solution.

I understand this is not the outcome you would prefer, I got your back! I’ll document here all the things we have done and make sure this will be heard and taken care of. So that our Apple Engineer might review our case and use this for future reference to prevent your concern to continue to happen. Okay?

See I can get 160hz to work fine on 5GHz if i set the bandwidth to 160hz only

i can also get 5GHz 20/40/80/160hz to work if i split the SSID and turn smart connect off (not really an option for me) nor should I need too.

I’m hoping it’s software bug, but I’ve had a iPhone 15 pro and 15 pro max with the exact same issues connecting - which points to the 6e hardware in the phone. - IPhone 13 Pro and pro max work fine on my existing setup

i wish I had a IPhone 15 or 15 pro to test, as I think they will work fine (but this is a guess based on the hardware in the phone)

i hope a iOS update can be released asap to resolve this, as buying such an expensive phone shouldn’t come with these issues - I just hope it’s not a hardware compatibility issue (which I highly doubt it is)

luckily for me I have a workaround and using a 2nd router that only broadcasts 5GHz (20/40/80), But not everyone else had this option or might not be technical minded to change all there router settings

running diagnostics is probably not going to help, there’s needs to be a IOS update to fix the issue

I’ve been working directly with apple care and logs have been collected from my phone (some other users on this page have also been contacted), The information has been passed up to engineers who will analyse the logs and see if a update fix can be created to fix the issue.

if they do and they can fix it via an update it might take 1 to 2 iOS updates for it to come out.

can I ask what router your using and your WiFi router settings?

Update below from a Apple Care Contact That's Been collecting logs and reporting this issue higher up to engineers

” Thanks for letting me know.

The focus of the newest iOS update, version 17.0.3, is to fix the kernel security and WebRTC overflow bugs. Visit this link, About the security content of iOS 17.0.3 and iPadOS 17.0.3 - Apple Support, for more details.

I would recommend waiting for the next major update. If the problem still persists, please let me know, and we will take the necessary steps.”

so looks like we need to wait for 17.1 at least

i dont agree with you, if this was the case, why would the router manufacturers allow the setting on the router for 5Ghz?

also setting the router to 5Ghz 20/40/80/160Hz has never been an issue for me or any of my other devices, But i understand depending on the environment some people might have some issues.

If i leave mine at 5Ghz 20/40/80, Wifi speeds are alot slower around the house, Yet if i leave it at 5ghz 20/40/80/160 i get most my 940MB via the wifi no problem

like me and many others the main issue here is Iphone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Apple engineers have collected logs and are looking into a fix to be released via IOS update

Yes, have you not read previous pages, Apple care support have worked with many of us and collected logs from the phones, This was then sent onto engineers who will identify a fix and release in a major ios update

Please read the other posts ive made

I was told by the Apple care person that’s been collecting the logs for the engineers not to rely on the beta for the fix, once a fix is identified and created it will be added to the final release that’s available to the full public
