Did anyone find a resolution or is everyone else still not able to use speakerphone on calls or facetime? Also doesn’t work on messenger. The person on other end says it’s cutting in and out and they can’t hear me. Losing all respect for apple. Can anyone confirm whether they’ve acknowledged this issue and are working on a fix? I’ve only heard how iOS 18 is going to be amazing, yet they can’t give us the most basic, staple functionality that makes the iPhone an iPhone. Something is fishy. I don’t want to go back to Android but I can’t get another iPhone knowing this is how they go about their products. Basically forcing you to get a new phone when yours is perfectly fine. Not to mention they’re hurting the environment by pushing “fast fashion” phones with their bugs. How much extra waste does that contribute to? I guess Apple doesn’t care about sustainability. Just profit.

I figured it out. It's unfortunate that Apple is not acknowledging this or doing anything about it. They replaced my iPhone and shortly thereafter, found a solution.

In the control center when on a call make sure "mic" mode is set to "standard" and not "isolation". After I switched to standard, never had the problem again. I was ready to get an Android if it couldn't be solved. Apple was trying to blame it on the cell phone carrier. Let me know if it works for you, good luck!

If you take it off mic standard mode then you will have to turn it back on when using speakerphone. I have no need at this time to change the mic mode from standard, so I leave it on "standard". Are you having the exact same problem on speaker phone .... you can hear people on other end clearly but they cannot hear you or say you're breaking up? That's what this solution typically fixes.

Precisely. Without speakerphone they hear me just fine, as well as with Bluetooth headphones. When I am on speakerphone though, for a call, FaceTime, or video chat on FB messenger, they say I’m cutting in and out and sometimes they can’t hear me at all. The setting didn’t fix it for me, I’ve tried it several times. I have an 11max pro so I can only access that setting while in a call.

I started having trouble with my iPhone 13 January 2024. Randomly people couldn’t hear me when using speaker phone. Then they would hang up. So in February 2024 I traded in my 13 and purchased the iPhone 15. SAME problem !! This is soooo frustrating because I use my speaker phone all the time. Now I have spent a lot of money upgrading and still cannot use speaker phone for phone calls. I have tried every fix mentioned and I do believe it is an Apple issue. What is strange is my family and friends are not having the same issues but I read pages and pages of other people who are having the same problems as me. I am so upset!

If it doesn’t work for you when on a call and using “mic standard mode” , some people mentioned getting into a diagnostic phone on the iPhone and it worked for them. I don’t have a clue how to go about that but if you haven’t tried that yet, I would call Apple and also let them know about this post and all the other people having this issue. They need to solve this for everyone regardless if there are different issues/settings causing this.

It's unfortunate Apple deleted my post for simply giving advice on how to handle it. Yes, this is an Apple fix and issue with software and or phone. Demand they fix it, direct them to this post with at least 10 pages of same issue. Knowing what I know now, I'd be relentless in my pursuit. They gave me a new phone and still had the same problem. I had to discover the fix myself. Phone is dee fect ive whether in software or hardware or both.

They are deleting my posts as well about the issue. Was your resolution the diagnostic with another iPhone? That is the ONLY thing I haven’t tried yet. Please advise. I’m desperate! My phone is in perfect condition except for the speakerphone bug (and on FaceTime) regular mic when not on speakerphone the person can hear me fine. As well as with Bluetooth through the car or headphones. Other person hears me fine.

Just to be clear selecting "mic mode standard" on speakerphone in control center does not work for you? If not, definitely go with diagnostic mode route.

I did not have any issues with Factime, only speaker phone. My problem was with "mic isolation" setting on speakerphone causing the issue. Moved to "mic mode standard" and voila, problem gone. I don't have a clue how to go into diagnostic mode and if you don't make appt. at store for them to do it. I'm so sorry you're going through this, I know exactly how you feel, I was there.
