Why is my iPhone 15 Pro screen unresponsive sometimes?

I have been facing the same issue from Day 1 on my new 15 Plus 128gb black, it’s so annoying. I moved from a 6 year old android phone with lot of expectations and I feel like i wasted so much money on this shi*. Really disappointed.

I reported this issue to Apple support multiple times and they suggest the usual restore process, which I guess wont help.

Im confused if it is a software or hardware issue. Will apple service replace my phone?(i bought it on 23rd Sep), it really doesnt make sense even if they agree to replace the screen as it is a brand new phone.

The issue im facing are (consistent):

1. ⁠Scrolling and swiping is not smooth at all.

2. ⁠Open Music app , touch on Library , touch on Playlists and immediately type on any of the playlist you have.(as soon as the playlists screen loads, without any delay) , it doesnt open and I have to press it twice or thrice sometimes to open it.

3. ⁠Same as (2), open Gmail app and open any email. Touch on the back button on top left corner as soon as the email loads. It doesnt respond, touch again and go back and immediately open another email, it wont respond. Have to touch 2-3 times to open it. Note: if you allow a half a second or a second delay before opening anything then things are fine, but back button always sucks.

4. ⁠Instagram scrolling is really horrible, sometimes it just swipes left or right when I try to scroll down.

I connected a pointer device(mouse) to the phone and I see the same laggy responsiveness with that as well. Still im not sure if it is something to with the display(hardware) or its due to the way the OS is handling loading apps.

Same issue is seen if you open Settings->General and immediately touch on About. It doesnt open and you need to touch again to open it.

It happens even on the Home screen. Sometimes even if we touch on any app it doesnt open it and we need to press it again. In this case the response from the screen shows as if we have touched it but doesnt open the app. I have seen the same issue across a lot of Youtube review videos but no one cared to talk about it.

Hope this is a software glitch and it doesn’t end up being a waste of money.

Same issue everywhere on each and every app. Screen takes time to become responsive. And the back button seriously sucks always on the top left corner.

My issue is mainly with the Lock Screen Widgets not responding - primarily when my iPhone 15 Pro wakes up after overnight. I have to do a hard reset as described towards the beginning of this thread, then it is usually ok till I go to bed. Same thing was happening with my iPhone 14 before I got the 15 but on the 14 it would also happen occasionally during the day. Anyone find a permanent solution?

Ok i just got my iPhone 15 pro max couple days ago and the screen response was delayed. And i tried what Axel Foley suggested and it worked! Thanks

P.S i held the side button for a while (inadvertently)

I have been having the same issue with my 15 pro max. I went in and checked to make sure I didn’t turn something off or on by mistake but it all was good. Can we bring it in to Apple and see what they can do at a store

I too had hopes of a fix with software updates… Mine worked fine out of the box, it started with 17.2 if I remember right, but seemed to get better and go away with 17.3, then 17.3.1 comes along and it’s happening again. So I’m pretty confident that it’s a software glitch. With as many complaints as I’ve seen you’d think they would have fixed it with an update or have they not seen the complaints. Screen response is a very big deal, you’d think they would have addressed it by now, but I’ve seen nothing from them and nothing in update notes.

Apple, if you’re listening… we need a fix asap!!

Same here I just left Apple Store it’s an internal problem change device

Turn it off and turn it on again is a fix for a 1500$ thing that functions as a paperweight as compared to my 14 pro? ...I want my 14 back

Happening with the 15 plus also I’m already having to exchange my phone causes it’s bad that’s where I’m at too maybe some are defective

Omg! I thought I was the only one! I notice it the most of instagram. It’ll slide through stories without me doing it. But then sometimes doesn’t respond to the touch screen at all! And I’ll have to press really hard

Is it a hardware issue, the issue seems to be there across all the apps. Even on the default home screen, settings, lock screen everywhere. The phone is just so unresponsive and doesnt feel like a premium phone.

Scrolling experience on most of the apps is horrible, even how different parts of apps are loaded is weird. It seems like some apps are not built for this particular display or OS (incompatible)

I have iPhone 15, Right side down corner and left side up corner display sometime not working properly. If this is a bug please fix as soon as possible.

when I play Battlegrounds Mobile India then the problem is appear, even when I using WhatsApp I face the same problem.

Have you also tried to attach media in text messages like pics or audio or video as gifs. The tapping has still be corrected. I requested a new phone which will be number 3 it gets delivered today and was on back order from ATT Still no change. I am hoping the one that will be delivered today does not have this issues if so I’m switching to android and I hate android as I use my phone for work etc. #apple should have had this corrected by now and is in acceptable. Since your new phone is doing keep switching it out until it’s corrected

Iphone 15 Ios 17.1.1 and all the proposed above methods are failing. swiping up the applications to move into another app is a nightmare, forcing apps closing also completely unresponsive. With all apps, not only the apple ones. no solution at all till now. Do fix this!

I just got my ip15promax to apple clinic after update latest ios screen totally not respond after force shutdown also d same.

technician reset the ip n seems no solution for it only hv to reset everything 😩😩😩
