Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

Hi, I got my iPhone 15 pro max in Nov. A week later, my screen was unresponsive when I tried to video. Sometimes when my alarm went on, the stop button was not responsive. These issues became more frequent. Today, I couldn’t zoom in and out the videos. Also when I texted, I couldn’t switch from letter to number. I had to restart the phone each time when the screen was irresponsive. We paid so much for a defective device. Can we return the device? I suspect it’s a manufacture quality issue. My last phone was iphone 12 pro max which never had such a problem. I am very frustrated.

Greetings! Same with me, new Iphone 15 pro, 2 days use, i am having trouble with my screen. Out of the package too! This appeared as soon as i booted it up! Sometimes when im typing, its not regestering clicks nor when clicking on apps or doing some gestures sometimes. I have heard its a software issue and if thats true then it should be resolved soon. Still, for such an expensive phone, 2 days use, its not regestering touch? Crazy when you think about it. I wish Apple could reach out to the public and acknowledge the issue to let us know they are working to fix the issue. And if its not a software issue they should at least offer us a free screen change.

This also happens to me, quite regularly. Particularly when im unlocking my phone entering the passcode. I notice that it lights up as if to say it has registered that the number was pressed but then instantly disappears and so I have to press it again.

Now, Call me crazy, but it only lets my index finger and occasionally my thumb input the numbers otherwise the phone will not unlock. Also, everytime I ask someone to watch me and see that it isn't registering the number being pressed, it automatically works and makes me look really stupid!

This is honestly so frustrating and touch screen issues need to be addressed ASAP!

This has happened to me multiple times since I got my new iPhone 15 Pro a few weeks ago. Tonight it did it for minutes, where it started at a second or two there’s also a glow when anything on my screen flashes, and I wasn’t sure if that was part of the software. I will try the force restart that was suggested on the first comment page and I will update if that resolves the issue. I have the most recent update 17.3 and have so far tried all other suggestions.

Hello for me the issue persists.

But I have problem only if I press apps to open it and the issue appears sometimes not always. The strange about that is when I press the app ( and not open) I can see the app pressed and screen responding but app not open like windows pc needs double click to open a folder.

If I write on keyboard no issue found.

Also sometimes if I touch the screen to open the device is not responding and need a second tap.

You guys have this issue or something else?

I just bought my15 pro 2 days ago from the Apple Store and this is happening . No reset works, nothing Apple claims to fix it fixes it. They just don’t want to recall their phones. Why is apple doing nothing about this? Why is this affecting so many and you hear nothing about it? I will be returning my phone and letting EVERYONE know this is a known issue since last year that Apple has done nothing to fix. AVOID & return.

I put on a protective screen and thought it was because of that.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case. While it got much better after removing it, the display of my iPhone 15 Pro doesn’t feel as snappy as one of my iPhone 13 Pro.

Since there so many here complaining about the same thing, this seems to be some sort of quality issue. I am surprised there is no official response from Apple at this point.

I have two iPhone 15 Pros and have some issues with one of them. A lot of times taps are not registered on the phone I use for work while the other iPhone works perfectly fine. As both my iPhones are on iOS 17.4.1 I do not think that it is solely a software related issue. Yesterday I had a closer look at my iPhones and at some of my friends' iPhone 15 Pros (some of them have the same issue and some don't) and I recognized that the displays of the iPhones with sensitivity issues were a little more yellowish while the others looked a little more blueish and were also a little bit brighter (true tone was turned off on all of the phones). I did some research and found out that the more yellowish ones were probably made by LG while the blueish ones were probably made by Samsung and I was just wondering if that might have something to do with the display problems many are experiencing.

Since I am not an expert on this topic and also do not know if there is any truth to my theory I just wanted to ask for your opinion.

I’m so glad I found this Community post. Currently sitting at a Genius Bar with their silly little tests. The guy completed a continuity test on my screen and there were multiple times he had to go back and click the screen to cover random spots but tried to tell me it’s the new OLED screen technology and that my old iPhone 7/8 had 3D Touch. I’m coming from an XS max so this guy was an absolute clown.

im so disappointed in Apple. Over 1500 people in this post suffering with the same issue and they are unwillingly to listen to their customers .
