Swipe-up no longer shows the same features/functions on Apple Watch after the update

I just updated my Apple Watch 10 to watchOS 10.0.1 The swiping motions on the watch now bring different 'option' panels. "Swipe-up" no longer shows the same functions (battery %, vibrate phone, theater mode, etc). Where can I learn how to control my watch with OS 10?

You can open the Tips app (orange background light bulb) on your watch and it will guide you through this and other changes made to the operating system. The guides in that app cover the main things you'll likely be looking to do.

Apple does not read this user-to-user technical support forum for feedback.

But you can send Apple feedback via:

Feedback - Watch - Apple

If enough users send feedback, it is more likely a decision maker will see it, and maybe take action.

because some require clarification. I do not want to use my “find my phone”. Half the time it doesn’t connect right. Secondly, I used to be able to swipe up, send 1 chime to my phone and rest assured it was close by.

i am forever misplacing my phone (most recently it fell between the seats of my car). I literally had a panic attack over this because find my phone said it was at home, when it was literally inside my car in a parking lot. it never made a sound. I found it later.

plus I really don’t want all the emails about misplacing my phone that follows when I lose it once a day.

just let me ping the phone from my watch easily and

let me get on with my day.

if I need to find another device I’ll gladly go through the steps.

I agree that the swipe up was the easiest and most efficient way to get to the options before this latest upgrade. It’s so annoying when apple makes these ‘forced’ changes with no option to maintain the former layout. Does apple even seek customer feedback? There is really nothing that exceptional about this watch so constantly frustrating your customer base w unnecessary changes seems pointless. Let us have options for layouts we prefer. Thank you.

Yes! I absolutely HATE this update! I do not want to press the side button and go into settings to put my phone on theater mode or check the battery. I HATE this. It was so perfect and easy before to silence my watch and to see the battery status. Now my watch runs down all the time because I’m not able to check it easily. This update really messed up my watch.

And since this so-called update, I am using much more battery per day. I have had to put it on the charger much earlier in the day most days. Their superficial changes are making me charge my iPhone SE v2 much earlier most days since this was downloaded. It appears to me that they wanted to juice up the graphics to look more current and more like a video game. I use the Activity app a lot and check it a lot. It may have looked more basic before the update but that's fine with me. I don't need flashy graphics just to check my progress.

They need to do a patch to correct some of the problems THEY have created and they need to do it now!

Tell Apple via

The more users that send feedback, the more likely it will reach a decision maker.

What genius at Apple messed up the most convenient part of the watch? I’m so frustrated! I used the swipe up multiple times a day, especially to quickly find my phone, the sound was much louder than the find my iPhone ping sound. As well as checking battery life and turning on the DND feature. If there is a work around for that, they need to give us a better heads up. I’ve been reading through the tips but it’s not helpful for what I want. The update was terrible!
