Swipe-up no longer shows the same features/functions on Apple Watch after the update

Have you asked everyone? It's a mistake to assume that everyone has the same needs and preferences that you do.

This is the worst update!!! How do I silence the watch? That was the most convenient feature. This update stinks. I can’t get it to work when I gently tap the side button and even if it did that is still silly! Change it back!

I am told that a single click on the Digital Crown will bring up a list of apps. You can configure that to be alphabetical, or to arrange them how you like. If you choose to arrange them how you like, you can put your favorite apps together so they are easy to find and activate.

I do not think the previous side button functionality is preserve in some other way.

You can always send feedback, so that Apple knows you miss the old functionality (explain what was so great about it).

Thanks, Bob. Regrettably, it seems that apps can only be put in a custom order when using the grid view, and not when using the list view, which I use since I find the grid view irritating. In any case, I have sent my feedback to Apple, using the link you provided. Thanks again.

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed.

I have mine set to "Slow". My Wife finds that "Slowest" works best for her.

Adjusting the speed also helps with bringing up Apple Pay, which is a quick double-press and release.

I HATE the new swipe up and crown push features on the 10 Apple Watch update

I frequently used my swipe up and it’s no lo n er convenient nor can I seem to change it back.

crown push showing my progress is dumb, if I wanted to see that I’d open the app; absolutely pointless.

I like that Apple changed the swipe up feature. The information is more tailored to my needs and I like the new look. You can still get to the control panel, just have to retrain your brain, and it is good to retrain your brain.

Is someone messing things up on purpouse or what is happenig ? First I got my contacts full gray page on my iphone after update and now this ? Why mess up something that goes well and 99,9 user used this function of swiping up on apple watch to see they’re battery, wifi status, cellular connection ..etc. Why do I have to press a button in 2023 ? Are we going retro with this updates ? This is not normal.

I had to search on google- how I can see the battery in ios 10.2 :) this is hilarious.

Where are you getting that statistic? Or is it just hyperbole? Apple has access to the user data of hundreds of thousands of people and how the use the watch.

the user data of hundreds that shared the data, the other 80% did not share it and they got punished..they were using swipe up till now. It s just hyperbole, maybe an ingineer should let us chouse this option …I don t think is rocket sience 🚀… for me was fast and accessible. How were you checking your apple watch battery Idris ?

All caps is shouting. Shouting at your fellow users accomplishes nothing. This is a user-to-user technical support forum. We are powerless to change anything.

But you can tell Apple what you would like to see in future watchOS versions

I agree here. I was a bit confused for a few moments then figured out the control panel was simply a button press away. Now I’m finding all sorts of uses for this new configuration.

That said, if enough people hate it — and make that known via feedback — I suspect this will turn into a setting in future releases just like the “Settings/Clock/Swipe to Switch Watch Face” control that was just added (and I was glad — I hated the new switch method!).
