iPhone 13 not auto locking

My iPhone 13 is set to auto lock at 5 minutes. It is not locking. I changed to other times, and it is not locking. Also, when I manually lock my phone and then unlock, I am not prompted for Face ID or passcode. Similarly Apple Wallet is set to require Face ID, but it is opening without it. Obviously all of this is a security concern. Thanks for any guidance. (Note, this is a new phone. Wondering if I should return to Apple, to be replaced.)

iPhone 14 not locking Not locking when I press side bar or lay it down. My husband can pick it up and open it. Have reset passcode reset Face ID and problem still persists

iPhone 13 will not lock, tried everything I press the side button and my phone is still unlocked when I tap the screen. I’ve turned off Face ID so I have to put in a passcode and it doesn’t come up it is already unlocked. I’ve reset my phone, done a hard reset. My settings are auto lock after 30 seconds (it doesn’t lock) power save mode is off. I don’t know what else to do
