My phone randomly turned off while I was using it and now the screen is black and its blinking the apple logo every 5 seconds. I have tried a hard reboot numerous times but it is not working. How do I fix this.

update!! turns out the waterproofing on my phone is gone because of a screen replacement, so it wasn’t turning on from water damage. if you’re struggling with this i’d recommend putting your phone in rice for a few hours, that worked for me!

1) No iPhone has ever been waterproof.

2) Putting a phone in rice if it gets wet is bad advice. It doesn't actually dry the phone out and rice and rice dust can get lodged in ports, making everything worse. Also, it's a waste of food. You're phone would have dried out just as quickly sitting on a table.

When the Apple logo keeps appearing and disappearing on an iPhone, this phenomenon is commonly referred to as a boot loop. A boot loop occurs when the device is unable to complete the startup process and repeatedly restarts itself. Here are some professional insights into potential causes and solutions for this issue:

Potential Causes:

Software Glitches:

    • Corrupt iOS updates or incomplete installations.
    • Malfunctioning apps or rogue processes.
    • Jailbreaking or unauthorized modifications to the iOS system.

Hardware Issues:

    • Damaged internal components, such as the battery or logic board.
    • Insufficient storage space causing system instability.
    • Overheating or water damage.

Data Corruption:

    • Corrupted system files or settings during data restoration.
    • Failed iCloud or iTunes backups.

Professional Solutions:

Force Restart:

A hard reboot can sometimes resolve temporary glitches. Steps vary depending on the iPhone model.

Use Recovery Mode:

    • Connect the iPhone to a computer using a Lightning cable.
    • Put the device into Recovery Mode and use iTunes or Finder to update or restore the software.

Use DFU Mode:

Device Firmware Update (DFU) Mode reinstalls the firmware and system software, bypassing the bootloader. This method is effective for severe software issues.

Contact Apple Support:

If the issue persists after software troubleshooting, it may be hardware-related, requiring professional diagnosis and repair.

Have same problems, tried recommended tricks but no result. Took to repair expert, changed battery and repaired a connection, stopped blinking but now will not charge up (no flash symbol or charge amount showing). Apparently phone is taking a small amount of charge but that’s all. Coming to conclusion that it’s past repair due to cost(s). Is this a known problem with iPhone 8?
