iPhone 15 Pro Max Battery percentage not increasing w charging

I thought my new iphone 15 pro max was not charging, or charging very slow. I come to find out that when I shut down and restart, or hard restart the device, the battery percentage finally updates. There is something wrong w the percentage on the phone not increasing until I do this. ex. Itll be stuck on 95%, I will restart the phone and its actually on 100%. It's not the cables. I tried 3 diff ones. I have battery optimization on etc. I dont know how to get the correct percentage to show during charging and dont want to keep shutting it down and turning it back on to update my percentage. It was like this right out the box.
