Blocked Plug in. How do I unblock them?

Just installed Mac Sur or whatever its called on Mac air. Had to do this as I wanted to install Microsoft word package and it wouldn't do it as stated out of date software. Was using Catalina or what ever it was called!

Now Mac Sur is installed (eventually... took hours) I keep getting Blocked Plug in message when I try to view PDF files.

Everything seems to tell me to go to preferences and then security and click allow plug ins. But i don't get that option.

Honestly ready to throw this bloody mac out the window as I need to do some urgent documents

MacBook Air 11″, macOS 11.7

Refer to Use Safari extensions on your Mac - Apple Support.

If you are using any Safari Extensions, Adobe plug-ins, similar third party system modifications, add-ons, etc, install them in accordance with the developer's instructions. None are needed to open PDF documents, and most of them only cause trouble. Follow the instructions under Uninstall or turn off extensions linked in the above Apple Support document. If you are at a loss to find anything like that on your Mac please write back for additional help.

As a workaround for now secondary-click (two-finger tap, right click, control click, etc) the PDF document link in Safari, and select Open Link in New Tab. Try that.

Recent Safari Extensions are installed using an app. No matter, we can probably get to the bottom of what's going on faster by using EtreCheck. A brief description and a download link are here: How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report - Apple Community.

Post that report in a reply to this Discussion, in accordance with those instructions.
