You could try all the same things I tried described in this thread.
Go the scientific, methodical, route - measure everything. Duration, from how many % to how many % battery in that time, take screenshots. Every time you change something, give it a few hours until you're confident it changes either something or nothing. Then switch it back and try the next thing. Yes, this will take days, if not weeks, but keep a record of everything you do and the result. As you can see I built quite a record and detailed descriptions of what was going on, including screenshots of the battery drain at some points (I have lots more but didn't want to spam too much here). In the end I could with absolute (or at least 99.99%) certainty show that the problem was in the phone, not any of my apps, my usage pattern, my charge pattern etc. etc. When the evidence is irrefutable then Apple has no option to swap it. Otherwise they can* keep sending you back into the weeds with "have you tried ...".
You may not have to go this far. Maybe all it takes is a simple call to Apple Customer Support and mention your phone drains like crazy and they'll replace it. I may be the weird one, but I like to come prepared to the battlefield 😝 If you're close to an Apple Store maybe you could pay them a visit (closest to me is a 2hrs drive away) and have them take a look at it (I doubt they'll replace it on the spot, but you never know). If you have AppleCare+ then Apple may be even more willing to replace it quickly or without too much asking. However, you do have a right to a decent working product which you paid (dearly) for. So if the phone doesn't do what it's supposed to do or doesn't function as it's supposed to function or doesn't last as long as it's supposed to last then - in most, if not any, part(s) of the world - you're entitled to (most) of your money back or a replacement. It depends on where you live (I'm in Europe) so your mileage may vary. But I'm sure Apple will be happy to replace it if it's actually a lemon (production error).
Having said that: how long does yours last and could you post a screenshot like I posted which clearly shows a) the green battery usage graph and b) the blue activity graph? If you have any means to measure temperature reliably, like I did, then measure the temperature after your phone being "idle" for, say, an hour (with no apps open or anything) and also, or especially, at times when it's hot. Note down what you were doing what (may have) caused the heating in your opinion. Again: measure, build a record. The first thing you're gonna have to do is define what you mean with "battery is draining hard"; what is 'draining hard' in your book may be 'normal' in someone else's book. Numbers. Durations. Graphs. Cold hard data.

Ok so I just called customer service, after explaining these issues I was told to hold on, only to be disconnected, it’s been 10 minutes and he still hasn’t called back. Don’t feel like calling and waiting anymore tonight. As others have said is what I told him, a fix better be coming soon or I’m returning it. With as much money we paid for these we should be having these major issues.
Same is happening with mine. Hardly using it and it’s dying. When I took it out of the box it was almost dead. Mine have always been charged. I plan to go to my cell phone store tomorrow to see what can be done.
Yes same issue…for me it even drained overnight charged to 100 and in the morning, when checked it was around 86!
Further casually using the phone and in 30 mins dropped to around 72! Worse than a 4 year old iPhone at this time.
Got this device yesterday and now a bit sad!
SAME! I guess i’m not crazy!! Got the iphone 15 pro for 2 days now, bought it on the 24th didn’t activate it a day later the 25th, and this is crazy! this is a BIG deal for me because I upgraded from the Iphone 8 !!! And I noticed a massive battery difference!! I feel my iphone 8 battery was better than this 15! I hope this is a software issue but I’m sort of disappointed:/ (everything else is fine getting used to the new technology compared to the 8)
Got my iPhone pro max on 09/24 used my phone for 2 days and today I have realized my phone started heating up and battery draining super fast. I charged my phone last night and by noon today it is at 9% and by the time I typed this message it is down to 8.
I have the same case as you, had my iPhone 11 for 3 years and had to charge it multiple times a day.
So i thought the 15 pro would save me, but the First thing I noticed about my new phone is that the battery drained extremly fast.
hopefully this can get fixed :/
Crazy, have had the iPhone 15 PRO MAX for less than a day and the battery has drained 40 percent because of the Home Screen. I barely used the phone today, took 3 calls that were less than 15 mins, battery went from 70% to 30% in less than an hour. What’s boggling to me is that my iPad functions on USB-c and doesn’t have the same battery issues as this phone. What the heck apple!
I have an iphone 15 pro. Not max but my battery is also draining like crazy. I dont understand i disable the 120hz screen and from many apps i turned off the background refresh thing. But its still draining. I guess this "bug" or anything affects alot of Pro users.
I have the iPhone 15 pro. I have had 8 iPhones and this is by far the worst iPhone I have ever had. I just previously had the iPhone 13 Pro. And zero complaints loved the phone. But I can tell you right now my battery on that phone lasted way longer than this brand new iPhone. That battery lasted my almost all day. All day most days. This phone doesn’t even last me til 5pm what is this phones problem? Is it a glitch. The only reason I bought the new phone was for longer battery life and for the camera. I have turned off everything extra. Like the always on feature that was so heavily promoted. Hoping that would fix the problem and nope still drains like crazy.
Experiencing huge battery drain on my 4 day old iPhone 15 Pro. Totally unexpected.
Even turned off always on display and switched to dark mode with a dark wallpaper.
Switched from iPhone X and I got better battery life on that device.
Also overheats a lot.
I hope a fix is in the works.
Just chiming it to say, "Yeah. Me too." Unplugged the phone less than an hour ago and left it sitting on my bed. Battery dropped 10% and the phone is warm to the touch. That's with ZERO use. Tempted to take the thing back.
Really wished I hadn’t of upgraded. My iPhone 13 Pro Max was doing just fine but I was intrigued by the titanium and periscope lens, so I upgraded. The battery drain is insanely quicker from the 13 pro max. And it gets pretty hot while charging or doing data/graphic intense things, which weren’t an issue for me on the 13 pro max. Also, on multiple occasions I’ve not received a text or two while have conversations with my wife or friends. It’s strange. Question is, is it iOS 17 or the iPhone 15 pro max?

Battery life is very bad on my iPhone 15 pro max , I fully charge in the morning, after using it for 10min it drops to 90-92% and i do only emails and some web browsing , I don’t have heating issues or maybe I didn’t pay attention
the heating occurs when you are talking on the phone and that’s when it drains battery like crazy and I’ve mentioned this earlier if you guys go to my earlier posts you’ll see the screenshots that I have attached including the one below

give it a shot until Apple corrects this major issue.
I think you might have meant to reply to someone else. I don't have an iPhone 15 Pro Max but my iPhone 15 Pro is working perfectly. Great battery life, no overheating issues.
