iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17
I noticed my phone gets hot. But then what's even worse I noticed is that the battery drains so much. I upgraded because my iPhone 11 battery only lasts for a day but then getting this phone didn't make difference: i dont know what to do. Can we get a replacement or everyone has the same issue? I turned always on display off but it's still draining fast
I had an 11 Pro that is great but because of the promotion with my carrier, I thought, What the ****. Big mistake! I am so angry! Mine is not getting hot just draining the battery right before my eyes. I called and they said the diagnostic check showed all was fine, but I was told to ask for a new phone. I went to my local store which has pretty bad reviews, so I wasn’t expecting much help. The reviews were right. Terrible customer service! The guy kept speaking to me as if this is the first time I’ve owned a phone. Very rude guy telling me they just can’t say something is wrong because I say so or because people on the Internet do, and he said he is not aware of any problems and no one has come in with this problem. I have EVERYTHING turned off, even turned off the 5G like I read somewhere because if there no towers it drains battery searching. Well, what is the point of having a 5G phone if you have to turn it off because the **** phone battery can’t handle it. He kept telling me about hours and percentage as if it was great, but that is with everything off. So if it is draining at the rate I’m seeing with barely any use how the **** will it last the 26-29 hours that they claim. It is ridiculous that they can get away with this. THAT IS FALSE ADVERTISING!
If I return it I will lose out on the upgrade and still have to pay a higher monthly due to a plan change with family. Considering of getting the 14 Pro instead. Sad that I have to give up my 11 Pro, battery would be at 70-75% at 10pm . I’m starting to really DISLIKE Apple!
Apple does not care. I went through all the diagnostic testing and they checked my battery usage, they said everything looked fine. I know they always over exaggerate battery life in the ads, but so many of us are barely getting 6 hours and then we need to charge. I don’t even watch videos on my phone.
This is happening to me too. I just got my phone 7 days ago and the battery is trash! I took it to apple and they aren’t taking any responsibility for this, saying it’s because I have background apps running? Those SAME apps are running in my 13 pro max and not draining nearly as fast. I’ve also had issues with responsiveness of the screen and it’s frozen/lagged on multiple occasions. I’m taking the phone back and if the issues are fixed with a software update later down the road, I will re purchase. Paying $1500 for a phone that has HALF the battery life of my old one is ridiculous.
I wonder what apps you use, and what you people do with your phones my ip15pm has nothing those problems this not heat, this is colder than my 12pm
battery last all day and if i want it last over two days.
of course apple didn’t want to believe cos i think that 99% these problems are in america? Am i right
You did what was best for you; Apple isn’t responsible when third parties don’t properly update their apps and your experience will be less than satisfactory until the makers of the apps you use take action.
I have had a 15 Pro Max since launch day and it has never heated at all.
No after 7hrs screen time i still have abou 60% battery
i saw that find my phone app is always on back usin battery, but I shut it off and now screen times look better..
I charge my phone while I sleep and only then very slowly, not usin fast charging thise are waste of money
How many cellular signal bars do you have?
Even if you are connected to WiFi, just having your phone idle in an area with one bar will use a lot more power than somewhere with full bars, because your phone still needs to ping the local cell tower periodically.
Likewise, 5G takes a lot more power than LTE.
I just received my new iPhone 15 within the past week. The battery drains fast with very little usage, and the phone gets warm while charging, and even when just typing in a few sentences. I have updated the software. I have hardly used the phone, do not do any gaming or streaming, and it has these issues just sitting there. I am a little concerned as the iPhone 7 I just retired had a much longer battery life. I would like to know what can be done about this. I had contemplated buying an iPhone 13, and hope this was not an expensive mistake.
Same here. The new iPhone 15 I just purchased drains rapidly just sitting there doing nothing. I just retired an iPhone 7 that had more than 2-3 times the battery life. At this point I don't see how the phone can be reliable if a person is out and about, as the battery will drain and die before you get home.
The iPhone 15 has also been very warm when it is not charging, and is just sitting there. I am going to go through and remove apps etc. as well as check the battery. But it is an expensive phone and a concern if it is not reliable re battery draining so fast.
I contacted the cell carrier to see if the SIM card was a problem, and was told it was ok. Since this morning I deleted several apps, and changed some settings, and have noticed an improvement. The 5G cellular service is not great in my location with the service provider I have been using. The phone still shows only one, and sometimes two bars on the top right hand graph. My apologies for the complaint, but it is difficult to sort out technical issues, and for such a significant purchase, the decision to keep the phone has to be made within fourteen days. Thanks for your reply.
As I stated, any 5G phone will use more power than phones using LTE, and it’s even worse in a low signal area (one or two bars.)
That’s not an Apple thing, it’s a cellular radio thing.
For example:
Samsung phone battery drains quickly on 5G service
Following up on my own post, I have talked to apple support on the phone 4 different times after taking my phone to an apple store prior to that. I had talked to 2 really nice women and finally, a really kind apple support agent said she would like to send me a replacement phone. My phone is up to date on the latest iOS. The battery continues to die extremely fast, I can get a full days use out of it only if screen time is about 4 hours.. the apple agent told me on a brand new pro max the battery should be lasting way longer than that DESPITE the logistics on the battery saying that the battery is totally perfect (background app refresh is off, and always on screen is off). She told me her husband has the exact same phone as me (256 GB storage and Natural Titanium color) and his lasts all day talking on the phone and screen time way higher. Not sure what happened in production.. why some phones are working and others are not doing well. The phone will get to me in a couple weeks and I will update again.
I have the same problem. The battery is not lasting 8h. My last iPhone was 13 pro max and the battery would last the whole day.
It’s really frustrating that Apple is going downhill. Customer service just pretend that nothing is happening, but they know is a problem.
No one is gonna be helped with 400 "me too" replies. There's a "Me too" button you can click to tell Apple you're experiencing the same problem. Unless you have anything substantial or of value to add to the discussion, stop piling "me too" replies please.
