iPhone 15 Pro Battery Drain Issue

I have bought iPhone 15 pro recently. The expectation is battery should be efficient, but is performing poor than iPhone 11. Especially Findmy app is used all night. The battery went down from 55% to 32%. Please help me to fix this?

Well, I just updated to iOS 17.0.3 and my iPhone 15 Pro 512gb natural titanium is still as warm as ever and the battery has still dropped 15% in one hour …

I talked to someone who works for Apple and they said it’s not gonna get any better that they had better venting and heat dissipation for the 14 pro with the stainless steel and that the A17Pro Chip gets too hot …and titanium doesn’t allow it to disperse. I don’t think any software update is going to make this work. and when you have a hot chip, you’ll have a battery that drains extra fast.

i’m going to further test it tomorrow on Thursday and see how it goes — and then I’m taking it back Friday (within the first 14 days) and getting all my money back. I’m glad I kept my 11 Pro. I would suggest everybody to do this as Friday is your last day to get your money back since it was the first day you could pick it up in the store

this is by all means a massive hardware design defect and there’s no remedying it. I don’t know what Apple‘s gonna do with this one. The only way they can stop it from getting hot is the throttle that A17 chip and the expert I talk to said that’s not even gonna help much. Some units are fine some aren’t. I’m not gonna gamble my $1500 on it again.

"The company claims the iPhone 15 Pro Max has up to 29 hours of video playback and up to 95 hours of audio playback, and the 15 Pro has 23 hours of video and 75 hours of audio. " Apple false advertising. Been using my iPhone 15 Pro Max for documentaries and short videos and battery life also not as expected ... pretty quick drain. $1700 iPhone ... very disappointing.

Hello!

I've been closely following the discussions on this topic in the community pages for weeks. I have similar experiences with battery life, just like most people here. My two-year-old iPhone 13 Pro had significantly better battery life with 87% battery health.

I'm using the new iPhone 15 Pro with:

- eSim exclusively

- Apple Watch Series 9

- Background app refresh off for 95% of all apps

- Screen always on turned off, and so on.

Last week, I reinstalled the device from a backup via Mac (deleted everything in the backup except settings and Apple's own apps). There was no change in battery performance, however it took me a whole day to restore the phone.

Yesterday, I boarded a plane with the battery at 85%, with battery save mode and airplane mode on. After 12 hours, when I got off the plane, I had lost nearly 10 percentage points of battery capacity. The maximum screen time during this flight was 10-15 minutes. I didn't listen to music or anything else in the background.

What could be draining the battery so much with airplane mode and battery save mode on when the phone is inside the seat pocket for 12 hours (as shown in the yellow area)?

We've decided to cancel the order for my girlfriend's iPhone 15 Pro based on my disappointing experiences with the 15 Pro. We think for now she is better off with her 13 Pro.

I feel like I've been thrown back into year 2009 in terms of battery life.

Horror! My 15 Pro is not making a day in normal usage. I am iPhone user since day 1. And in all those 16 years I never had a battery issue like this. You can literally see it dying while you watch it with no logical reason. Even in battery saving mode. Speechless. There must be something really going wrong. This is not just disappointing, it is really ruining my daily life. Today I could not even call a cab to get me home. This is unprecedented and I am more than outraged. Hey, Apple read all the hundreds of comments and DO something quickly. That is super frustrating and completely unacceptable!

People telling that the battery would need some sort of training in the beginning and the system needs to optimize itself over the first days (even in 17.1.1): why haven’t I never had this kind of process with all my 7 iPhones before? Truth is, it is not getting better at all after 2 weeks. I doubt that this is a software problem (so an update will fix it), I tend to believe some sources that claim Apple has switched to poorer batteries not only for life cycles but in general. If this should be the case I would be more than disappointed and return it. Will decide after the next major update…

@devlike105 stop patronising people. Several of us have tried all options. For me it even worked for a period of almost 2 weeks, then it started to drain just like when it was brand new. I have reset the phone about 4 or 5 times, disabled everything and it still eats 20-25% battery in 7 hours during the night, while sleep focus is active. And the battery history was showing no app running, I have even disabled FindMy completely. During the 2 weeks when it worked as expected, in same night conditions, the phone was using practically nothing (1-3% all night).

Been having the same problem.

Had an iPhone 11 with 80% battery health and my new iPhone 15 PRO is barely hitting the same battery life performance. Tried every battery saving solution and nothing has worked out.

I've also noticed that everytime I grab my phone for use, the left portion of the screen (where the A17 is located) is pretty warm, while the rest of the glass is colder.

Running iOS 17.1.1 right now.

Btw, I have an older pic from 27th of October. In this pic you can see how, on 24th, the phone suddenly started using much more power during each day. You can see that up to 23rd, the usage was much lower. During the whole period from 7th of Oct to 23rd, I had nice, acceptable battery usage. I did not change my habits, don't remember anything significant about installing some apps.
