iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

My Apple CarPlay worked great on my iPhone 14, and does not work with the new iPhone 15 USB-c. The car only has a USB port, and I’ve tried multiple USB to USB-C cables and none work. What’s going on? It’s a 2023 Mazda CX-30

Also having this issue in a 2017 Ford F150, using USB A to C cable from Titan Cable (has power and data capabilities). Same phone with same cable works in 2020 Toyota Prius Prime. Have a bunch of other iPhones in the house ranging from the lowly X through the 13, which all worked without hiccups.

Ordered some Anker A to C cables as it seems people have better luck with those. Will report back.

We don't know that there is a problem on Apple's end despite your comments; others with Lexus CarPlay systems elsewhere have had no issues, and of those that have, either deleting all known devices and reassociating or using a known good USB-C to USB-A cable rated for data have solved many problems.

I trust you've tried both, so I would suggest working directly with Apple Support if you are not already:

Also be sure to contact your Lexus dealer and make sure your vehicle is running the most up to date version of firmware for your entertainment system that is available.

i have my phone set up to connect via bluetooth too, and i also have spotify, so when i get in the car, i press play on my music once it connects to the bluetooth THEN i plug in my usb-c and it plays music. it’s not the bluetooth audio either, it works through spotify on my display. it just somehow helps connect the music to apple carplay. i can’t explain it, but just try it.

2018 F150 and iPhone 15 Pro won’t work with SYNC when using USB but will charge with the cable. The Bluetooth pairs and will play music but I have no way to operate any of my apps but my old iPhone 8 Plus operated just fine. I was on with Apple tech support last nightfor over an hour and was told that my truck software probably needs to go to the dealer for software update? Has anyone else been told this? I’m using an Apple USBc to USB cable, not aftermarket. I’m becoming beyond frustrated and am about to send this new phone back and go with another brand.

That’s interesting. I was thinking that possibly an app installed on the phone might be the culprit. Maybe the folks that are unable to get it working using the steps outlined by myself and others in this thread have an app installed on their phone that’s contributing to the problem. My only other suggestion would be to make sure all of your apps are up-to-date and your iOS is up-to-date on your iPhone.

I was a bit surprised by this because my apps were supposedly UTD or at least I’ve got my device configured to update automatically at night. Apple support did do a check on my phone to confirm that I was on the latest update too, 17.1.1. It appears that the Google maps was what was causing all my problems. Very strange indeed but hey, I’m not complaining and I am just delighted that it’s working. My only hope now is that this experience can help someone else out there.

Yes, that is the exact cable that I bought on Amazon and it works perfectly.

I urge people who are still having problems to go back through this thread and read the posts by the people, like myself, that have had success. I’ve gone into detail explaining step-by-step how I did it, but in a nutshell, get the right cable, completely reset your cars CarPlay and delete any and all phones that were previously paired. (You might have to do this a few times before it works). I also deleted all of my paired devices in my iPhones Bluetooth settings. Make sure your phones iOS and APPS are all up-to-date. Once it started working with the cable it then started working by Bluetooth. Everything works now
