iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

My Apple CarPlay worked great on my iPhone 14, and does not work with the new iPhone 15 USB-c. The car only has a USB port, and I’ve tried multiple USB to USB-C cables and none work. What’s going on? It’s a 2023 Mazda CX-30

using a MacBook Pro usb-c cable and a USB-c jack to USB-A to connect with a Yaris s 2022 doesn’t work, but same adapter using the cable that came with the iPhone 15, works…

both original apple cable… I cannot believe it, 5 cables tried to not use another new one, and keep using the previous cable I have… that’s not good…

iPhone 15 Pro Max, 2019 BMW and CarPlay works better than it ever has. Much more responsive, connects faster than with my iPhone 11 pro. Connects thru Bluetooth or cable. Just throwing this out there, because I had the problem in the beginning too. More than one person has mentioned the Google Maps app as the culprit. Delete the app and try connecting, then restore the app. In my case, I updated everything on my phone, IOS and ALL Apps. Then totally cleared my cars system of ALL phones and reset it to factory. I actually did the factory reset on the car multiple times to make sure everything was reset. I know it shouldn't be this hard, but I finally got it to work.

Try deleting other devices and connect new phone as new device there are a variety of fixes in this thread that work depending on vehicle. I still think apple needs to create an overall fix but due to FCC forcing apple and android to be converted to universal C charger by end of 2024 they are having unforeseen issues we are on our own to resolve. Best wishes on on resolving but I’m confident one of the methods in this thread will work. If cord didn’t my next suggestion is delete all devices and connect new phone as new device using Bluetooth from CarPlay

My solution for my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE

  1. use the cable that came with the iPhone 15
  2. If the car is up and running and connect automatically, try unplugging the cable from either end and immediately plugging it back in
  3. if it still doesn’t work, press the power button for your dash infotainment system, often the volume knob, for about 10 seconds to reboot the car’s entertainment system. You may need to see your car’s manual to see how to do this.

I think the most important issue is using apple’s cable, hopefully Apple can remedy the broader issue with a future software update.

I had the same thing, my new IPhone 15 Pro won’t connect to CarPlay in 2018 Mercedes. I tried at least 15 different cords before one worked. It was an old usb to c cord that did the trick no adapter or dongle worked for me. Gotta say I was prepared to give back my iPhone 15 and use my iPhone 13 to have CarPlay. Why have a new phone that you can’t use in your car?

Was having a problem with my 2019 Hyundai Tucson not connecting to my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Read through this thread and couldn’t believe the amount of differing opinions and suggestions. One gentleman suggested going to dollar tree and buying an adaptor (USB to USB-C.) Which I did and the adaptor cost me $1.25. I did not do any updates, reset my radio, buy a special 1 foot cable. I literally spent $1.25 and my problem has been solved.

if I help anyone else… I’m glad :-) good luck.
