iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

My Apple CarPlay worked great on my iPhone 14, and does not work with the new iPhone 15 USB-c. The car only has a USB port, and I’ve tried multiple USB to USB-C cables and none work. What’s going on? It’s a 2023 Mazda CX-30

Same thing with the 2017 Honda civic and my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’m honestly disappointed to see that Apple hasn’t addressed this yet. I love this phone but I love CarPlay more, and I might have to switch to something else if this isn’t resolved.

Thanks for the information I have also tried with those cables as well as deleting my phone and repairing it. I’ve also changed the name on the phone. hard restarted the phone. Hard restarted the radio. Very odd that it would just all of a sudden work. Seems to me like it won’t be stable if it’s finicky. I’ve got a call with Apple tech-support this afternoon as a follow up to my other call a week and a half ago.

I have not only removed all devices, I have reset my head unit back to factory along with the iPhone 15PM. I have tried not plugging it in til the Jeep was on, many cables from different manufacturers, renaming my device, using a neighbor's vehicle, different settings people have suggested and swore that worked and I have even tried holding my tongue different ways. None of this works. None of this is a fix. Some may say it works for them but its not consistent. There is a guy on the Jeep forums that says his and his wife's work every time. So there is that also. Mine and my wife's never just work like it used it with previous devices. This is something Apple really needs to address. Its just as important as SOME had over heating issues IMHO>

The problem with CarPlay is Apple does not control the radio only the software to it. They can’t control if people have updated their firmware or iOS. Are you saying that any other iPhone except the iPhone 15 works with your CarPlay? Does your 15 work with other vehicles? I agree this needs to be addressed, but I think the problem with this is there’s a lot of different working pieces that Apple doesn’t control.

I think I found a “solution” with the Jeep. If you let the car fully start and the infotainment system completely boot up, then plug in the phone, you should be good. Ive been testing how soon after the car starts that I can plug in the phone and it looks like it’s about 30 seconds. Any less and you are doing the unplug, wait, plug in dance.

Anyone tried these steps?

Update to the latest version of iOS. Make sure that Siri is on Verify there is no case on the iPhone that might be causing interference, affecting how the Lightning cable seats, or that might be between the iPhone and stereo USB connection (e.g. a battery pack). Ensure CarPlay is not restricted in Settings > General > CarPlay as well as Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps. Forget the stereo from Settings > General > CarPlay > [stereo name]. Forget the iPhone from the settings (stereo user guide for instructions). Rename the iPhone in Settings > General > About > Name. Reset network settings on the iPhone. Test with a shorter Apple approved USB cable. Check if the has disabled Auto-Join for the network and toggle back on via Settings > Wi-Fi > Edit > [Wireless CarPlay SSID].

I’ve had the same issue with intermittent or no connectivity between my iPhone 15 Pro and 2018 Subaru. I

previously added a USB dongle to enable wireless connectivity in an unused port in the car which worked fine. I installed a USB-A to USB-C adapter and tried several cables, none of which enabled connectivity. When I disconnected the wireless dongle from the USB port and plugged in the iPhone, CarPlay connected right up. In this case it seems like the wireless adapter caused some interference. The name of the wireless dongle was a GarlinKit, bought on Amazon.

I have a 2017 Honda CRV and just replaced my iPhone 12 Pro with a 15 Pro. Car Play worked on and off for a couple of weeks until it stopped working altogether and I kept getting a message about checking the USB connection and cables and "no phone" detected although my phone did appear on the list of active devices. Since the CRV only has USB outlets I bought adapters in order to connect the USB-C of the phone to the USB in the car. For days I did research online. I also fiddled with the settings, erased and unpaired my new phone. Turned Bluetooth on and off. Nothing worked. Before calling Honda and Apple I found this video on YouTube and, voilá, it fixed the problem even though the phone used in the demonstration is not a 15 Pro. Am posting the link here hoping it will be useful for anyone going crazy too. https://youtu.be/B0vaMArBb1U?feature=shared

I had the same issue. I just got a new iPhone 15 Pro. I have a 2018 car that doesnt support wireless Carplay. I bought a USB-a to USB-c from the AT&T store. At first, it didnt recognize. And that was frustrating. I read online that Anker USB-a to USB-c works, so I ordered that and I am still waiting for it to be delivered. BUT then, I read something about making sure Siri was set to 'on'. I checked my phone and it was set to 'off'. So I enabled that by going through the prompts. And now the AT&T USB-a to USB-c cable works with Carplay.
