iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

Amazon Basics USB-C to USB-A 2.0... this is the one we got and followed steps above in thread on 2023 Mazda cx5

I bought a Belkin cord from Walmart that worked for my Iphone 15 Pro.

I used a cable that comes with a samsung tab A8 and it worked 👌🏽

Same here. After re-setting Car Play on my Honda CRV the iPhone 15 Pro works like a charm. Before that I had tried ever cable possible with inconsistent or no results at all.

I updated to the latest iOS 17.2.1 and now it’s all fine.

I bought the Anker USB-A to USB-C on amazon and it finally works on my Subaru Impreza 2017!!!!! Sooo happy!!!

I have an 2021 Acura RDX and had this issue. Higher end cable worked for me. Cygnett cable (us.cygnett.com) at $10 but I got it back!

My truck has both USB-C and USB-A ports.

I found that when using the C port in my truck, CarPlay will turn on sometimes.

In the case where it doesn’t turn on, i just flip over the usb on the iPhone side and it works fine.

I used two different C cables and they both have the same issue. (the one included with the phone and a thunderbolt 4 cable)

When I use the A port in my truck, it won’t work at all, even when I flip the cable on the iPhone side.

My solution is to buy a wireless CarPlay adapter until Apple figures this out. I just ordered one from Amazon.

You could also purchase a device that allows you to use wireless CarPlay. I’ve been using one for over a year now so when I switched to the iPhone 15, I didn’t have any issues (my car also only has a usb port). This is the wireless CarPlay device I have

iPhone 15 Pro Max and 2019 BMW M240i same issue while trying over Bluetooth, but it works for me via USB. My car has USB-A, so I am using this USB-A to USB-C cable. Purchased on Amazon.

I have to plug my phone in BEFORE I start my car for it to work (takes a few seconds to sync). If I plug in after I start my car it does not work, nor does it even charge. But yes I need a better solution and looking into a Carplay adapter as well.

I think I found a “solution” with the Jeep. If you let the car fully start and the infotainment system completely boot up, then plug in the phone, you should be good. Ive been testing how soon after the car starts that I can plug in the phone and it looks like it’s about 30 seconds. Any less and you are doing the unplug, wait, plug in dance.

Another new caveat is this if you are plugged in before you start your car good luck getting your CarPlay to ever come up. I had to delete my phone from the infotainment system and then repair it to get the CarPlay to show up
