iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

When I us the Apple adapter my CarPlay works for 2 minutes or less before every thing goes silent.

I too was having issues with every cord I tried. I ordered 3 different belkin & anker cords plus adapters to try. I have a 2018 Acura tlx with a USB-A wired CarPlay connection. Once plugged in, it would make a sound like it was trying to connect over and over, but never connect. Finally what worked for me was removing the car connection from Bluetooth devices, turning the car off, then turning the car back on. Plugging in the phone with a USB-A to USB-C cord, and the car asked to connect the phone. It worked!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works.

Get in your Car, plug into the USB to CPort > then On your Iphone just go to Settings > General > Carplay > Your car name will pop up select and connect. I just had to do this with my Lexus and it worked. I was like WTH how come it wouldnt automatically do it. Since then I don’t care what cable it is, they ALL work and CarPlay works just fine. Try resetting your CarPlay in your car’s menu system.

Had some progress on this issue. I use the cable that came with the phone and a type C to type A adapter (from Amazon) once it stops working, restarting the phone solves the problem but it doesn’t last long. It turns out, on my VW head unit, there is an option to “safely remove usb” similar to disconnecting a flash drive from your MacBook. If I do this, I have no problems.

In conclusion, you need to either find and use the “safely remove usb” option every time you disconnect or restart your iPhone 15 if it won’t connect.

Not an ideal solution, and not one I have ever needed to use before, but it’s all I’ve got for now.

Hopefully, Apple will sort out iOS soon so it will work like my 11pro did for years.

I got this wireless carplay adapter and it works perfectly! Set up was a pain, but their customer service was great and helped me out tremendously. Now it works seemlessly, just like is should!

Had the same issue with my 2017 Ford Edge. I bought a Belkin cable on Amazon and it worked!

I just got an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I was having issues with CarPlay in my 2020 Chevrolet Bolt. Luckily it was just a cable issue for me!!! I tried 3 different USB A - USB C cables. One did not even charge, or sync. Second one charged, but did not sync. Third one charges and works with CarPlay!!

I posted a solution that worked for me a few days ago. After trying several cords and adapters, and nothing worked, I saw a post on Mac Rumors that suggested turning off your VPN, if you have one, before turning on the car. I know it sounds completely unrelated to the problem but it worked for me. If you have a VPN running on your phone, turn it off before turning on the vehicle and before plugin in your phone.

I was having a problem with my car play not connecting, I got this usb to usb c converter from amazon for 10$ and used my original cord that came with my phone and it worked perfectly!!

You can use a converter, but it has to be rated for both charging and to pass data, and many are not.
