iPhone 15 CarPlay Not Working

My Apple CarPlay worked great on my iPhone 14, and does not work with the new iPhone 15 USB-c. The car only has a USB port, and I’ve tried multiple USB to USB-C cables and none work. What’s going on? It’s a 2023 Mazda CX-30

Same thing with the 2017 Honda civic and my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’m honestly disappointed to see that Apple hasn’t addressed this yet. I love this phone but I love CarPlay more, and I might have to switch to something else if this isn’t resolved.

Get in your Car, plug into the USB to CPort > then On your Iphone just go to Settings > General > Carplay > Your car name will pop up select and connect. I just had to do this with my Lexus and it worked. I was like WTH how come it wouldnt automatically do it. But this worked using this >> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085VT1VJT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

It doesn’t work on my Lexus NX 300 2020. I have tried a number of cables including the USB C to lightning adapter recommended and sold by Apple. If I didn’t already trade in my iPhone 11 Pro, I’d return the 15 Pro. This is extremely frustrating!! Apple please fix this ASAP because the phone costs too much for us to be purchasing these multiple cables that DON’T WORK!!

I normally don’t do an iPhone upgrade until 6 months to a year following a new iPhone’s release. The one time I didn’t & went against my better judgment, this kink or more like a roadblock is preventing me from appreciating this new phone and using it for my daily needs. I’m so done with Apple Support and the conflicting advice they offer when you call.

Thank you @cecilee82! I bought this Syntech adapter on Amazon as well and it didn’t work either. Please let me know what you did to get CarPlay up and running using this adapter. I’m now thinking of purchasing a wireless CarPlay adapter. Another expense to get Apple Play functioning on an already very expensive device! Thank you Apple!!

I'm having a very similar situation with my '22 4xE. I normally have to unplug and plug back in multiple times to get a connection. Once I do, I am good. Previously had a iPhone 13 Pro with no issues using both the USB-A and USB-C connections in the jeep with the lightning cables. I have used multiple cables including the USB-C cable the phone came with (that's currently in the phone) and multiple UBS-A to C cables that I have confirmed are data cables. They all will eventually work, but it's not plug in and go anymore.

This is my issue. It will connect to almost any charger if I disconnect and reconnect it whether it be the port on the phone or in the car. My issue is my phone has to unlocked, and the car fully turned on for it to pick up the CarPlay. Once its connected, theres no telling how long it will stay connected for. It disconnects in the middle of GPS use, and my phone sits there sending a bunch of charger connected notifications. If the BOOST charger doesn’t work, I will try the Anker ones because thats the only one that’s frequently posted as a solution here

The Apple USB C to USB A adapter, does NOT solve the issue. I bought it for $30, and experiencing the exact same issues with no change. Used the cord that came with the phone and a regular lightning cable I had and both needed to be disconnected and connected multiple times to get a connection even WITH the adapter

This is the exact Anker USB-A to USB-C cable that I also bought, and mine WORKS too. It didn't work at first, which is how I wound up on this thread.

To get it working, I had to start fresh by deleting ALL of the phones from my car. (My wife's phone was in there too). I figured, let's start as fresh as possible.

Then I paired my iPhone 15 to the car via the USB cable. But it didn't work at first.

And this is the part that I bet many people are skipping, I had to DELETE my iPhone from the car and go through the pairing process MULTIPLE TIMES before it started working. Something must have changed after I went through the delete / pairing procedure about 4 or 5 times. I unfortunately don't recall the sequence of events, but I rebooted my phone at one point, and may have started and stopped my car. I was trying to get to a "clean slate" so to speak. Finally, after several attempts it connected to CarPlay.

I used it with the USB cable for a few days, and then it just started working via Bluetooth one day when I started my car and hadn't plugged in the USB cable yet.

So, in my situation, it shows that the hardware WILL work, but there must be something wrong with the pairing process that's screwing things up for a lot of people.

The other thing that I'm noticing is that it connects faster than my iPhone 11 Pro did.
