I can't access my recently opened files after I updated my iPad to ios 17.1. Those files appear in my "Recents" but can't be opened. I haven't deleted them too. How to fix this bug? I have my notes there and does not have other copy.
Hey everyone! I spent hours with Apple Support and this is what worked for me:
Yes, I know it sounds counterintuitive but it was the only way to get my data back that was deleted. It restored me back to a backup where all my files were there.

No actually, nothing was recovered. I tried it for two days, and have now rewritten all the notes again on pen/paper and a different 3rd party app called Goodnotes. :(

Still happening! I’ve lost at least 5 ebooks for school that I’ve purchased and downloaded into ‘Files’ over the last couple of months and they are now all gone. Apple owes me about $150.00.
My new files are randomly disappearing. I tried the icloud.com website but nothing is there for recovery. What now?
the bug has not yet been fixed, i experienced it a lot of times
same thing happened to me. i’m a literature student and i literally write 24/7. suddenly today in the MIDDLE of a class, 40% of everything that i ever wrote just disappeared. to say that i was frustrated and literally broke down is still an understatement. after a lot of crying i got the files back by a miracle. i did many many many things so idk which one of them was the one that helped me get all of it back but god i was terrified
