I deleted a thread about a week ago and I recovered it about 20 minutes later, however it isn’t recovering all the messages. I need to get them back how do I do so. My most recent back up is from today so if I use that backup will the old messages still appear

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! If your backup was created when the messages were not on the device, they will not reappear by restoring that backup. If you use Messages in iCloud, they may still be downloading. You can turn on Messages in iCloud by following these steps:
