iPhone 15 Pro Carplay disconnects

my new iPhone 15 pro is constantly disconnecting on apple carplay. Tried multiple usb c leads and holders and still happens. Didn’t happen with iPhone 14 pro lightning, android auto usb c. And my wife’s iPhone 15 doesn’t disconnect. Is this an isolated iPhone 15 pro issue that needs to be replaced or is this a serious iPhone 15 pro fault?

I did some more googling and found that other users that had the same issue fixed it by getting new cables and making sure that they were “data transfer” cables and not just “charging” cables. I didn’t realize there was a difference. I’ve ordered a new cable, usb to usb-c data transfer so we’ll see if that fixes it. I’ll keep you posted.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro. I tried many different cables and CarPlay still doesn’t work properly. I’m using iPhones for many years and I use CarPlay since it exists. But at this moment, sadly, I’m sincerely wondering for the first time to change my iPhone for a Samsung or other Android that works with my car. I love iPhone mobiles, but nowaday I can’t live without connecting my phone with my car system.

That's not a USB C (Thunderbolt) to USB-A adapter...

"it works..."

It does....until it doesn't. I purchased the same cable. CarPlay worked flawlessly for a few weeks and then on 1 Feb it didn't for the entire day. From Feb 2 it has worked. That's not the behavior one would expect if the cable was the issue. Once again, I don't think this is a cable issue.

Have been reading here about the 15pro disconnecting - well I have an SE running 17.4.1 and a brand new RAV4 Prime with wireless connection and my CarPlay keeps disconnecting also. So NOT that particular phone. Funny thing it worked perfectly for years in my previous car, a 2020 Prius so I have been assuming it was the car but apparently not. This “problem” is driving me nuts. Have tried many solutions found on line and nothing works. It will stay connected for days and then BINGO it’s gone. Takes a lot of messing around to get it going again and hard to do when you’re driving.

I too am having problems texting from my GMC 2024 Denali truck. I have had an Iphone 15 for months now and all of a sudden I cannot text from my truck over 50% of the time. When I dictate a text message it says starts to make noises after I am done texting and then says.... "something went wrong" and will not send the text. I did an update on my GMC truck and it says that I am using the most recent update software on the truck. I do not have this problem using my Defender Landrover car so not sure what the problem is with my GMC. Thoughts?

I can't find a solution so I'm assuming this hasn't been acknowledged or fixed :-(

I've used CarPlay without any issue at all for about 4 years, most recently with an iPhone XS. I use it almost exclusively for audiobooks and maps, though occasionally also Applel Music.

About two weeks ago I got a new phone - iPhone 13, brand new - and CarPlay wouldn't work. I couldn't get it going at all initially. Then two days ago I somehow managed to get it to connect. (At some point in the process I saw a message flash across my iPhone screen suggesting that it was updating the CarPlay software. Since there doesn't seem to be any for the phone I'm now guessing that meant in the car...? Skoda Fabia.) Anyway, next journey (following morning) it just didn't work again. CarPlay logo came onto car screen and almost immediately it said it was disconnecting the iPhone.

I tried wifi but it's very laggy and so annoying that it's not useable for me.

I keep looking for a solution on the web but there doesn't seem to be one. Having read this and other threads I don't think it's about the model of iPhone, or about the cable or the car.
