iPhone 15 Pro Carplay disconnects

my new iPhone 15 pro is constantly disconnecting on apple carplay. Tried multiple usb c leads and holders and still happens. Didn’t happen with iPhone 14 pro lightning, android auto usb c. And my wife’s iPhone 15 doesn’t disconnect. Is this an isolated iPhone 15 pro issue that needs to be replaced or is this a serious iPhone 15 pro fault?

I did some more googling and found that other users that had the same issue fixed it by getting new cables and making sure that they were “data transfer” cables and not just “charging” cables. I didn’t realize there was a difference. I’ve ordered a new cable, usb to usb-c data transfer so we’ll see if that fixes it. I’ll keep you posted.

FWIW I do think this is linked to the charging management software/hardware in the iPhone 15. I've noticed that it occurs most often when my iPhone is less than 50% charged. Notice also that the phone completely disconnects the USB connection - charging stops as well as any data transfer. My worry is that it is a hardware issue and hence not so readily resolved by Apple (as opposed to a software issue that could be dealt with via an OS update). Get ready for class action suit...

This is still a continued problem. I drove a rental the same day as I got my iPhone and had no issues. When returned home to my car still cannot connect. Cord will charge my phone but doesn’t connect to CarPlay. I’m in a hands free state and this was a huge problem when using navigation as I was constantly trying to look at my CarPlay screen (as I’ve grown accustomed to) and it has nothing there but radio. Kept trying different cords to no avail. Just messing with the cords was a distraction on the road. Hope there is a resolution soon as I do a good bit of distance driving and really love my CarPlay. Ordered multiple cords and connectors hoping one will work until something else is supported by an Apple fix. Hurry Apple before someone drives their car under a semi while trying to get their CarPlay to work properly.

Has there been any progress with this?

Here's been my experience:

I was using a usb C to USB C cord, with a USB adaptor so I could plug it into the car to use car play. This worked fine for a few weeks. Then it began doing the thing where after plugging in the phone, it would connect to car play, then disconnect, on a never-ending loop. This would happen intermittently and did happen when the phone battery had less than 100% charge.

Per this board, I purchased a Data cable and got one that was USB A to USB C and this worked flawlessly for about a week.

Then one day earlier this week, while I was driving and using car play and my new data transfer cable, the connection dropped for no reason whatsoever. The phone hadn't moved, was still securely plugged in, and the battery was at 100%.

It happened again today though I was able to futz with the phone and get it to reconnect.

Explain it to me like I'm 5 years old because I don't get it. I suppose the cable could be faulty but I highly doubt it.

This is very very frustrating.

Same problem here as well. Never had any issues with my 11 Pro Max - ever since the most recent update it will charge but not pull onto the screen. 2020 Ford Explorer ST. I also took the recommendation from someone below about trying the chord below and it does NOT work. I travel for work and this is absolutely brutal.
