Alert on Google Chrome on my Macbook Pro insisting I call a number for Apple Support.

I have Ventura and a Macbook Pro. Everyday I receive an alert insisting I call an Apple Support number. I use this computer everyday as I am an online professor for three universities in the States. I have deleted Chrome history, cut my computer off and back on, and reopened Chrome. Still getting this bogus alert.

I turn to this community because I don't know enough about other "help sites" to trust the other sites.

What do I do to stop this?

Rick

It's a phishing scam. Don't call any numbers that come up when you see that. Avoid visiting websites that serve those popups.

If you were using Safari, I'd have more advice to give you but, for Chrome, you're probably going to need to consult Google's help forums.
