IOS 17 update ... Find my Live stopped working after update, anyone have a fix for this yet? Thank you

Today I discovered that Apple fixed it! I think part of it was fixed in the iCloud. 😀

Mine stopped working after update to 17. Here is what fixed it for me: Turn off ‚Find my iphone‘ in settings (your name/Find My/Find My iPhone). Power off iPhone. Power on iPhone. Turn on ‚Find my iphone‘.

We experienced the same problem when my wife upgraded to a 15 pro max with iOS17. Disappeared from the family map. We can still track the phone but like you said have to jump though hoops. Completely unacceptable.

The problem we are having our 2 children don't have devices that support iOS17, and I don't think it's fair to break something that people use to monitor their children. If it's by design, then I don't think it's fair to expect users to have their young kids carrying around phones that could make them a target because of the value of their phones. This functionality was the reason we moved from android a few years ago :-(

Same issue. Find My and Face Time are the 2 main reasons I switched to Apple for the first time. Meh. I understand glitches happen but don’t they test this before release? And not being able to share my location is kind of a safety issue with the kids. Apple needs a fix for this. I keep pushing the share button and nothing happens. Nobody can see me. Well I’m sure the government agencies can. But not my friends. 🤪

Thank you for this! I have been frustrated that it stopped working and yours is the only post that answers the question and it worked. My son didnt have to do the same and mine seems to be working but I’ll verify when I see him and have him accept the terms as well.

I refuse to accept this hoop jumping as a fix… there was nothing wrong bfr. Software people can jump through the hoops to make updates work seamlessly. Ridiculous to force non tech savvy/millions of paying customers to do this level of problem solving!!!

Same issue for my daughter’s iPhone 15 pro running iOS 17.2. We’re all setup under one Family. We can’t see her location and she can’t see ours even though she's still listed under Find My. I can however see her phone under devices. So there’s definitely some weird “bug/glitch” going on. Restarting the phone doesn’t change anything.

Hopefully this gets patched up soon!

I did update my wife’s phone and no change at all. I am so ****** off at apple. The idiots who do the software, most probably from India should be hung in public. My wife works at night and long drive from home and I keep track for safety sake. Now this **** is not working, 20 to 30 min for update, should have never updated to 17.2

Updated again to 17.2.1 STILL broken, really Apple, maybe stop concentrating on new bells and whistles, and at least keep existing functionality!!!

I’ve updated to 17.2.1 and my “find my” is not working and everyone is updated to same. All it does it go around in a circle hung up and they says 2 minutes ago or what have you and it doesn’t show me live. Fix this issue. I can see all the updated people on my 17.

Me too. I updated from 16. something to 17.2 last night and cannot see my husband driving to and from work. I ALWAYS check on a lead number I,e. 17 but this was a 17.2 so I didn’t. Stupid me. I sincerely hope that somehow there is a speedy fix from somewhere

I’m having the same problem. I’ve used Apple products for years and never had a problem. I’ve had nothing but problems since I purchased my iPhone 15 pro max. It’s complete junk. Find My never had a problem until the latest update. It’s completely broken now. All I get is a spinning wheel and updates that are hours old. I can be sitting next to the person I’m looking for on the app and it shows the last location 2 1/2 hours away. When you use this as a safety feature it’s absolutely absurd that they continue to work on new features and don’t fix the problems that are already existing. I’ve had every bug with this device. Overheating, cloud issues, iMessage indexing issues, lost all my passes in the wallet, I could go on and on. The Find My feature needs to be fixed. I should get a refund for a phone I paid over $1000 for that doesn’t work!
