IOS 17 update ... Find my Live stopped working after update, anyone have a fix for this yet? Thank you

FindMe is not the problem - Real time tracking is what is broken.

I hate updating my phone. There always seems to be a glitch but this one is by far the most annoying!

Same issue live tracking not working piece if S***. why do I keep buying apple products and why do I update, updates have almost never improved anything.

This error and lack of response is beyond annoying. Actually considering buying an android phone. Been a loyal apple customer since my ORIGINAL 512k Mac (yeah I’m that old)

after I tested a little more, I agree that the problem is not fixed. I guess we'll wait a little longer.

Same problem here. I've tried everything - removing and re-adding contacts, restoring my phone from backup, absolutely nothing works.

Did it unlock the options within Family sharing to allow you to turn it on? And you did it on each device? The update turned all family sharing off on all devices. So you need to accept the terms and then turn it on for each device.

After contacting apple i was instructed how to fix this problem. First update your phone/ accept terms in conditions (apple id). Next back up your phone because you need to sign out of iCloud and wait 60 seconds before signing back in. This should fix it. You may have to restart phone after you sign back in.

Just a thought: are you logged in with iCloud on older apple devices which do not have a newest os? So e.g. older MacBooks which are not able to update to the newest os? I have the idea that older devices mess up iCloud status of things.

Thank you for this! I have been frustrated that it stopped working and yours is the only post that answers the question and it worked. My son didnt have to do the same and mine seems to be working but I’ll verify when I see him and have him accept the terms as well.

I would guess it works the same way. On my daughter’s phone, sharing location had been switched to off with the update. So I had to accept the new terms of service and it opened the screen to allow me to toggle sharing back on. I would guess your friends just have to do the same. But I can’t be 100% certain because in my situation it’s a family account.

I’m having the same problem. I’ve used Apple products for years and never had a problem. I’ve had nothing but problems since I purchased my iPhone 15 pro max. It’s complete junk. Find My never had a problem until the latest update. It’s completely broken now. All I get is a spinning wheel and updates that are hours old. I can be sitting next to the person I’m looking for on the app and it shows the last location 2 1/2 hours away. When you use this as a safety feature it’s absolutely absurd that they continue to work on new features and don’t fix the problems that are already existing. I’ve had every bug with this device. Overheating, cloud issues, iMessage indexing issues, lost all my passes in the wallet, I could go on and on. The Find My feature needs to be fixed. I should get a refund for a phone I paid over $1000 for that doesn’t work!

Here in the Netherlands it works again. I bet this is an iCloud issue where they deploy fixes on a region basis. I bet this hasn’t anything to do with our iOS version. Maybe if you mix in old apple devices which doesn’t support new iCloud options, but here an onder iPhone 7 works fine with find my. So if you add your region we can demand an update of iCloud in your region to fix this. It is really a shameful bug for apple not to fix this!

Since iOS 17, Live works sometimes on iPhone 15 but mostly in now mode, updating with jump from point to point. My iPad works better in live mode but it’s Wi-Fi only? Could it be cellular? My guess it’s the update!

I also have lost ‘find my’ on my iPad after updating from iOS 16.something to iOS 17.2 for the iPad But now I’m finding that WiFi is dropping out every few minutes 😖🤬🤬. I very much doubt that Apple fix it people watch this but I really really want this fixed. Can somebody tell me who to actually contact and how. Thanks heaps from New Zealand
