How to change new iOS 17 Notification Sound

Submit the compliant to both Apple and Nest - here are the options - Apple needs to allow us to pick our own alert tones like android does and Nest (or any company) needs to add tone selections to the apps - this is an absolute nightmare for security systems - click below to let Apple know

There are some great new things in iOS 17 …this just isn’t one of them :)

The issue isn't just new default notification sound, it's with notifications in general.

If you enable notifications for an app but do not enable visual notifications (i.e., Lock Screen or Banner), you will not receive a notification sound.

I agree this is stupid. Now you can not hear your notifications from your cameras or door locks. What’s the use of getting compatible devices! It was already bad enough that all 3rd party apps are the same sound. I’m about ready to get rid of apple products altogether.

Not helpful. I’m talking about notification tone, not the text tone.

Well it’s officially out, go download 17.2 and you’ll see we get to choose our notifications sound! Problem solved!

We know, the problem is that we want to change sounds for apps on an individual basis, not have a default one that covers everything. Hopefully a future software update resolves that.

This feature is horrible. I've been thinking my phone was broken since the upgrade. And it's really crummy that it can't be altered. Thanks for the links to provide feedback to Apple.

I downloaded 17.2. No change, I don't see any option to change it, and I don't see any mention of it changing in the release notes.
