How to change new iOS 17 Notification Sound

I’m not a massive fan of the new notification sound (Rebound). I can live with it, but I prefer the classic tri-tone. At least give me the option to change it back and adjust sounds for individual apps as some app notifications are silent even in ringer mode. Just release a software update to choose notification sounds for individual apps!

Hey!

At the moment, 3rd party app notifications aren’t changeable by the user, as Apple has set the default to Rebound. Only the app’s developers can change this at the moment. You can suggest this here: Product Feedback - Apple

Amazing. Some app notifications are slight chirps that are hardly audible. Who makes these decisions and do they own an iPhone of Android as they have no clue, whatsoever.

Translation: Apple makes decisions I don't like and don't agree with. That makes me sad and angry.

I myself am NOT a fan of this notification sound.

when I first got my iPhone 15, I was on a phone call and heard the rebound notification sound through my AirPods. My first thought was “did my call just hang up?” I’m not sure where I’ve heard this sound before (or a similar sound to it) but it reminds me of a dropped call or hang up button.

Apple, please fix this.

Apple...please give us the ability to change the notification sound, not only for in general, but individual apps as well! Rebound is just too quiet. Personally, I have a Ring alarm system and cameras and really need the notifications to have a unique sound so they will be more prevalent. This is crucial, especially at night or when I am away from home. As you can imagine, responding to someone attempting to pirate a package or sneaking around my home would be useful. Having the ability to assign a unique tone to at least the Ring app would be greatly beneficial!

Unbelievable that we cannot choose a default sounds on our phones!!! I am seriously considering moving to Samsung now.

I think you should. Samsung has great displays, they've resolved the exploding battery issue, the bloatware is (mostly manageable) and, they cost about the same as iPhones these days. Unless, of course, you get the lower end models which is something you should never do with an Android phone.

We have sent feedback to Apple. The issue is, as I’m sure you are aware, they do not respond to it.

So customers are left with a forum that Apple doesn’t read, and which all comments, criticisms, and complaints don’t get responded to - other than told to send feedback to Apple - or we are told to contact Apple via their Feedback systems, and we still

don't get any kind of response or solution to a problem.

What else can Apple users do, if we are constantly told no one is listening?!

My nest cameras now can’t be heard in the daytime if phone in my bag or pocket & even at night the alert isn’t loud enough for me to wake if someone gets onto my property. I’m fuming- why can’t apple give you the option to change the tone on 3rd party apps. I feel sorry for people who have hearing issues as so quiet!

I am really not happy with ios17 update. I have a 14pro. I used to be able to choose individual sounds for different apps but now they are all the same if it is a 3rd party app, which let’s be honest, most apps are. I can’t hear the new sound, which I cannot change for my emails. It is the same sound as for instagram, plus nearly everything else.

please APPLE give us the choice we had before. This update is awful
