Apple Silicon Macs do have Rosetta 2 – but if this code is so old that it is targeted for Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6), there's an excellent chance that it is 32-bit code that won't run under Rosetta. Or that there is some other dependency on APIs in those old operating systems that will break the code on current ones.
