Hello - I just installed macOS Sonoma 14.0 and now when Caps Lock is on there is a blue indicator with white arrow...how do I permanently remove that indicator so I can avoid having to turn it off every time by clicking on the indicator then again tapping the caps lock?

Most developers and CAD users use CAPS LOCK a LOT ...

I'm an architect who, like most if not all, write all day long on my drawings in CAPS. Having a persistent blue indicator telling me that 'caps-lock' is on is like having a persistent blue indicator telling people from all other professions that 'caps-lock' is off!

You try to be the "cut above" and yet, with these types of 'features', you're becoming as bad as the rest of tech! Be better Apple and stop adding ridiculous things that are not "cutting edge"
Dear nkfarlow, you are mistaken. You LOVE this feature and want more like it. For example, a red down arrow button when CAPS lock is disengaged. Another super feature you'll enjoy is a 1920x1080 black rectangle in the middle of your monitor that appears when your camera senses you are looking at your screen. I have more...

Confirmed with Support that it can't be removed, went to feedback.apple.com to let them know this was wak.

Don’t like it? Then use a virtual machine of Windows XP. Works for me.

In your opinion. It may not have occured to you but not everyone in the world has the same needs and preference that you do. Personally, I find it to be a very helpful feature.

YUP!! I hope everyone goes to feedback and lets them know. I edit in Final Cut, and must use caps lock a lot since all my television stations server codes require to be in all caps. it's very annoying making 40-60 files and have to look this floating blue bubble. I'm sure there are a lot of others using caps lock key for various reasons. It's like having clippy back from the days of Windows. Apparently Apple doesn't remember him. Don't put intrusive pop up stuff on our displays!!!

I said the same thing the other day. Anyone remember him saying something about a computer should be as easy to use as a toaster - or something like that.
A lot of us aren't comfortable monkeying around with the code. Please Apple, make it simple to disable this feature! What in the world is the advantage anyway?
