iPhone Keyboard Lag after iOS 17 Update

I am facing the same problem after update iOS 17. typing too slow. no thing left to do, but not solve the problem. when can I expect to solve the issues?

I'm on iOS 17.3.1. I'm experiencing the same issue. It sounds like an important problem that Apple isn't addressing.

The fact that you do not have this issue doesn’t indicate the issue doesn’t exist. Your comment is even less useful than mine.

I am experiencing the same thing after getting ios 17 as well. Except it does not lag to much on my key board. Apple, please fix this, it is extremely irritating.

I am having the same problem since the update. This is very annoying as I use my phone quite often for business. I hope that Apple get this fixed immediately.

I have been experiencing the exactly same issue since 2023 December's update. I have reached Apple Support 2 times already. They cannot help.

Same here. A totally annoying behavior. At least it’s not in all apps. The one on my phone without Siri approval doesn’t react laggy, as there is no auto correct and suggestions. Nevertheless, I hope this gets fixed!

I have this issue too, with both English and Vietnamese keyboard enabled. I have tried resetting the dictionary, restarting the phone etc. If someone could look into this, this would be great. There are many bilingual speakers out there who wish to talk to their friends and family and Apple can do better than this.

While typing this message, I have experienced this lag several times already. Once for more than 10 seconds, long enough for me to take a screenshot several times.

To say it simply I liked old keyboard in iOS 16 better but your problem I’ve not ‘had’yet’? ( I have updated to iOS 17.0.3 get that )But when you say you restart I ph is it just power off? I solve many problems with this way you may know about it- do this fast, punch in vol up then punch in vol down then hold in power off until you see the apple logo come on then let go wait for I ph prompt swipe up and put in pass code. This may work. If mistake is made just redo it. This hack has solved many of my issues. I do it a few times a day even though no problem is currently bothering me. I also use airplane mode a lot to also refresh ph every day. It’s like I ph hygiene!

I’ve gone through the b of 17.1 and it was there. Ran for a few days and then upgrade to 17.1GA and the lag disappeared at some point.

I did reset my keyboard dictionary and tried without dictation enabled but at some point in the last few days the problem was gone.

side note my iCloud account has enhanced security enabled with TFA and hardware keys.

but if were to make a suggestion, let it run a bit and see if your problem subsides.

Just updated iPhone 13 to iOs 17.1. Keyboard continues to malfunction. Capitalization is on/off at random, and I'm not able to insert the cursor in previous text where/when I want without multiple attempts.

After some time with iOS 17.1 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max I can confirm that the issue is still present, sometimes when I’m typing the keyboard literally freezes for 2/3 seconds. But the most frequent issue is a small delay when I type the first letter just after opening the keyboard, after that small lag it starts working correctly.

This is one of the worst keyboard experiences I’ve had with Apple and I’m considering going to another type of phone. I feel like I’m wrestling with this keyboard and it’s not a hardware issue like their reps keep saying. Apple, fix this. This is happening on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 11. 

I have had the same issue and tried updates. Removing the predictive text function. Only fix was removing a second keyboard. I had English and Vietnamese, definitely something they should look into as I would assume a lot of people require multi language keyboards!

I even can’t edit my texts when it goes over a page long. As soon as I put my finger on the screen somewhere in the start of page the page automatically rolls to the bottom of the page. I don’t know where the curser is?
