iPhone Keyboard Lag after iOS 17 Update

Just updated iPhone 13 to iOs 17.1. Keyboard continues to malfunction. Capitalization is on/off at random, and I'm not able to insert the cursor in previous text where/when I want without multiple attempts.

After some time with iOS 17.1 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max I can confirm that the issue is still present, sometimes when I’m typing the keyboard literally freezes for 2/3 seconds. But the most frequent issue is a small delay when I type the first letter just after opening the keyboard, after that small lag it starts working correctly.

This is one of the worst keyboard experiences I’ve had with Apple and I’m considering going to another type of phone. I feel like I’m wrestling with this keyboard and it’s not a hardware issue like their reps keep saying. Apple, fix this. This is happening on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 11. 

I even can’t edit my texts when it goes over a page long. As soon as I put my finger on the screen somewhere in the start of page the page automatically rolls to the bottom of the page. I don’t know where the curser is?

Same I’ve been having this issue as well! and it’s not even when I’m typing long texts.

I just recently switched to the iPhone 15 pro max 6 days ago from the 13 pro max (with the old update) and never had this problem.

I have iPhone 15 Pro Max and my keyboard is lagging. I upgraded my phone, after 7 years of having iPhone X, paid full price (ouch!) for a slow keyboard. I'm so disappointed. Can this be fixed already? I needed a new phone for business and this is slowing me down! :(

It actually made my keyboard a bit more responsive while typing as well! But there is still a delay compared to older iOS Versions or Android phones, which feel super responsive. It’s crazy Apple can‘t manage to fix a Keyboard issue…

I have this issue on iphone 15 pro, 230 out of 256gb memory is free on my iphone. Its my first iphone and keyboard felt weird out of the box. Software was updated 3 times already and keyboard still feels like it has delay, i cant type fast its kind of laggy, in all apps, all keyboards, even Gboard. My old galaxy s21 felt 10 times faster in terms of typing. Phone work fine, but i feel like sometimes it dont want to register my touches in apps. (i tested touchscreen in all zones its fine).

Yeah I got the same problem and I’m using 14 pro max. It’s annoying cause I type fast and sometimes it’s paused. And it should not be a check spelling problem because I used older iOS version ( I can’t remember which) but they were fine until I updated my old phone iPhone 11 to iOS 17 and it’s lagging

The Magic keyboard w/my Ipad pro is a nightmare after the iOS 17. It's poorly responsive (begin a paragraph, and the spacebar must be HIT twice after the first word; and no Apple, this blue whateveritis is neither charming nor functional. Access to emojis is gone.

Mine is the same. I only have one keyboard and it’s as if my phone is years old. Keeps freezing when I’m mid typing and then the phone catches up and types it really fast. But messes up all the letters. I’ve also had it a lot where I will be typing and my phone will take me back to the start of the sentence and start typing behind what I’ve already written so my sentence is backwards. General touch screen issues too. Not fun!!

$2000+ phone and cant even use the keyboard, the single handed most important feature to give data input back to the phone to get stuff done. For a trillion dollar company it has android lagging keyboards, what a joke. Pull yourself together Apple! Expect better than this!

I thought the lag gone by doing what I’ve said but no. Maybe I had the illusion that when I’m in 1 of my languages, it was less laggy, but it’s not true, the lag still there. 🤷🏼‍♂️ in 17.1.2 still there

They are close to releasing iOS 17.2 already, with a keyboard which is ridiculously slow. No improvement so far, IPhone 13 pro which I don't like anymore because they ruined something that was always so good. 

If it’s someone’s job to read these complaints on the forum, then they don’t understand how they should prioritise fixes. We don’t pay huge amounts of money to scroll pages only.

I remember iOS 6. Are those developers still around, Apple?

i totally agree. This 'update' has made my keyboard unusable. Clearly someone at Apple is not doing their job. Please organise a fix asap. i have didabled all funtions of my keyboard to enable typing without words and letters freezing. I didnt pay so much money for an iPhone for this!
