See my post above. Seems to work for everyone. Also new theory for any AirPod owners/users. With the additional touch feature to mute a call from the AirPod I have found I mute calls a lot verse hanging up like before the updates. Might be worth remembering to hold to hang up not just tap. Might be the cause of how the mute is mysteriously turning on and not reporting to be on.

I just followed your instructions step by step and as of now it seems to have worked. Thank you!

For everyone else, the power button to be held down is the one you use when turning the phone ON. When you do that, the Apple logo will appear, keep holding down the button, the logo will disappear and appear again, let it do that three times and on the fourth one release the button. The phone will turn on, test it by asking someone to make a phone call to you, hopefully it will work for you like it did for me. Good solution!

Hi Cmegreen, Any success with your iPhone problem & do you still have to use "speaker"?

My iPhone 15 Plus crashed (no touch screen) after auto update iOS 17.3.1 and was repaired by me, in early February, with "iMazing" software. Yesterday (Feb. 27th), when I made two phone calls, using the "speaker" neither caller could hear me but I could hear them clearly. If I took it OFF of speaker then they could hear me and I almost always use "speaker" for phone calls.

did you hit the mute button while on a call? I just got my phone on Friday and since Sunday, everytime I speak to a landline, I can hear them but they cannot hear me - after I read this forum, I tried pushing the mute on and then off but they still could not hear me. Apple has said there is nothing wrong with my phone after doing a diagnostic yet I am still having the issue - sometimes it is immediately, sometimes after 2-3 minutes and today I was able to speak for 34 minutes on one call before it happened and on another call, it happened almost immediately! It is extremely stressing me out.

For me, the problem is intermittent. A call starts out OK but then In the middle of the call, the people can’t hear me. My remedy has been to shake the phone or tap it and sometimes they can hear me again sometimes not. Many times I hang up and call again and the whole scenario repeats.

none of the other remedies prescribed have worked for me. Because the issue is intermittent it is very difficult to say what fixes work and what doesn’t work.

This feels like a hardware problem not software. Comments anyone?
