Wrong Device Name

My older son had a phone that we upgrade and passed on to our younger son to use with WiFi. I have changed the device name, and can see our younger son's name in the About and everywhere else except when you click on Family, it reverts back to the OG name our older son. I have logged in and tried to change the name in Apple, but his information there is updated as well. We are also getting notifcations for the APP center from my older son's device name. We have wiped the phone clean, etc. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Frozen11,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand your older son's device is still associated with his Apple ID when you tap on Family. You'll want to make sure you've removed it from his Apple ID device list. This article explains how: Check your Apple ID device list to find where you're signed in.

"If you set up two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, removing a device will ensure that it can no longer display verification codes. It also won't have access to iCloud and other Apple services, including Find My, until you sign in again with two-factor authentication. The device won't reappear in the list unless you sign in again.

You can also permanently remove a device from your account page

Use your iPhone or iPad to remove a device

Permanently remove a device from your account page

If you're still signed in with your Apple ID on the device, it might reappear on your account page the next time your device connects to the Internet.
