I can only hear my calls on speaker. I have a 12 Pro. I tried all the YouTube stuff, but still no phone call sound without the speaker. Recently updated to 16.7

when contacted Apple care they told me that you have to bear the cost of Rs 28000/- for screen replacement as the top receiver is attached to the screen only and it has to change to make it work.
new iPhone 12 is not worthy Rs 28000/-
Yes & none of it worked. The "fixes" seem to apply to a different mic. I have updated software, called support & they did a bunch of trouble shooting to no avail & advised me to go to the Apple Store. Didn't want to go over the holidays but now don't see the point since so many people running different software or having different models of phones all have the problem.

It’s more than likely a hardware issue so you need to go into Apple. Do as you like but an update is unlikely to help with the issue.

The link for support "microphones don't work" doesn't work because it is the phone that isn't working not a random app. Apple support over the phone tried but was unable to help. With so many people with the issues it seems to be clearly an Apple problem for which they are not taking responsibility.
Hello ~ The link works fine for me. Take your iPhone in to Apple and have it physically checked out…that’s pretty simple. You more than likely have a hardware issue that needs repair. In the past when I have had a device issue Apple has always taken care of it for me which is more than I can say for some other companies and done a wonderful job to boot. Also …I am getting a little uncomfortable with you arguing with me when I am trying to assist someone else in this thread.

Hello once more~ Take your iPhone in for repair. The microphones have failed. Others have had to have their’s repaired because it is a hardware problem. What part of that doesn’t hit home with you? You have been in this thread complaining since the beginning of January and still haven’t bothered to get your device repaired and I don’t understand that myself. Go get it repaired…please.

My iPhone 12 all of sudden has gone weird on me. Making calls and answering calls I have to use speakerphone. Never had an issue before but I’m thinking due to most recent updates do you think it’s because of that. Currently running on 17.3.1. Has anyone else had or having issues? I’ve tried everything but still having issues.
My phone did the same.....last night. Was working perfectly fine in the morning. And I'm not even on ios 17 yet.... still on 16.6 (don't have any storage to update). No clue how to fix this but its super frustrating!
Hello ~ Many times the update has nothing to do with it at all in some cases there is a hardware issue in progress already and the update may cause it to fail. Either way you need to have your device checked. Why not do that and come back to post how you particular issue was solved. As for me spamming this thread you are incorrect and bordering on rude. I am telling you what to do…not what actually happened inside your iPhone. I am not a technician with the ability to visualize a device across the miles. Take your iPhone in to Apple for a check or not….up to you. I updated just fine…

I took my phone to Apple today. My phone was fine until the afternoon of Mar 4th. Then all of a sudden no sound on a phone call unless on speaker or through the car.
it’s a known Apple issue “iPhone 12 service program for No Sound Issues” for phones manufacturered between Oct 2020-Apr 2021.
Hi or extended service includes: microphones record noise on video and in phone calls, whatsapp, Facebook. Conversations interrupt, my voice is distorted, on the lower microphone, on the top better but hums. You can hear the touches of the case, the microphones are sensitive. The speakers play normally. Can I use the program for iPhone 12 Pro (less than 3 years) ????
