“No Voicemail” after iOS 17 Update

Filmdolly I do get the script, but my son called me and said when he did, he got nothing, that’s when I started checking my phone. It’s starting sound like their new voicemail in iOS 17 is causing several problems

After contacting my carrier, as per your instructions, they have concluded it is NOT on their end but rather an Apple update issue that needs addressed by YOU! Please stop placing blame on someone else and take care of the problem you created for users.

I have the exact same thing and I contacted my mobile provider. There’s nothing wrong on their end. It’s the IOS17.4 update that has serious bugs.

I also don’t have any Personal Hotspot option anymore on my phone. Completely gone!

I am utterly heartbroken. I did the latest update with iOS17 on my old phone before trying to transfer the data over to the new phone. I noticed the new phone didn't have my voicemail history. Then I thought for sure it was on the old. Nope, they're all gone. The last voicemails from my late mother are now lost. If I had known I was going to lose them, I wouldn't have done the update, and I would have found a way to save them and I would have transcribed them... but I felt so assured that apple would would keep the voicemails, that apple would transfer the voicemails to a new device. It seemed like a given. It's amazing with all this technology, our digital lives and memories can be so easily erased. I am going to try calling AT&T tomorrow, but I'm not very confident they will be able to help with this. Fingers crossed. Namaste.

Same heartbreak. I had messages from my dad who died last year. So many sentimental messages I'd saved over the years. I never do updates and wish I didn't do this one for sure. Trying to call verizon. Fingers crossed as well.

That’s my exact question! All of a sudden millions of people download the update and boom their voicemails are gone. AT&T do not recover voicemails ! Nor could they explain to me what’s wrong or how this could have happened. Apple needs to fix this!

IS apple planning on doing anything about this? I am utterly devastated that all my voicemails from the last 5 years are lost!! Like so many of you, when I updated to IOS 7.4 they disappeared. I was saving voicemails from both my parents who are gone now!! This is terrible. Nothing that is suggested here has worked. PLEASE help -- apple please fix this!!! if you are on this thread and your emailed returned please tell me how you did it. I have tried everything. Is apple planning on doing anything to help??

Thank you for the update but the last time I backed up, my phone was 11/23 2023 how would that work for me because if I restore it my phone will go back to the last time I backed it. It’s not gonna have the new stuff on it.

Stop saying that! Just to be utterly clear…I had all of my voicemails until I updated to 17.4 last night. It is on Apple’s end!!! Your new update is unable to sync with my carriers voicemail. We are not idiots and are just trying to get it fixed. Stop blaming the carrier!!!

Just to be utterly clear, Chris was answering a DIFFERENT question back in November, LONG BEFORE iOS 17.4 was released, and his answer was correct 4 months ago.

I updated my phone this morning and all my voicemails were gone and I couldn't listen to my voicemail greeting. I re-booted my phone, and all the voicemails came back. I'm going to wait a while before I call support about the voicemail greeting issue, it seems like this is something Apple is working on, despite their company line which points users to their cell phone carrier. It's sad to me that Apple would do that and not take responsibility from the jump for these issues!

This helped but I rely on visual voicemail for most calls. I hope Apple actually does something about this. So annoying.

Same here. I’m losing business messages and it’s super frustrating. Did you figure yours out? I’m with Rogers. Wondering if it’s on them.
