“No Voicemail” after iOS 17 Update

Similar, but not identical. No more audio on “answering machine” messages; like the audio has been erased. The display goes through the motions, but no audio. The last message received, after update, has a text transcription, but no audio.

I have 13 mini and same issues exactly. Red dot no number. Sometimes the voicemails are there sometimes not. Doesn’t always require a hard reset or restart. Sometimes I look and they aren’t there and I’ll go back in a few minutes and they are. I’ve been missing calls for awhile but Genius Bar says my phone is perfectly fine. So frustrating.

After update my greeting was on default and would always go back to default. Go to your phone setting and turn off live voicemail. Now mine stays in custom greeting

This helped but I rely on visual voicemail for most calls. I hope Apple actually does something about this. So annoying.

Contact your cellular carrier. They are responsible for voicemail and they need to ensure that your account is provisioned correctly for visual voicemail.

I'm sorry, I wasn't replying to your post. It seemed to me that your issue was corrected. I'm sorry, but if you are still experiencing voicemail issues, like I said earlier, your carrier is responsible for voicemail. They will need to troubleshoot it.

Same here. I’m losing business messages and it’s super frustrating. Did you figure yours out? I’m with Rogers. Wondering if it’s on them.

As I indicated to the earlier posters, your cellular carrier is responsible for your voicemail. You need to contact them to have them troubleshoot your voicemail problems.

Filmdolly I do get the script, but my son called me and said when he did, he got nothing, that’s when I started checking my phone. It’s starting sound like their new voicemail in iOS 17 is causing several problems

It’s strange that the repeated answers on Apple forums are to contact the cellular carrier when the voicemail issues only began after updating to iOS 17… Clearly Apple screwed something up with that update, and it wasn’t on the carrier side. I had to disable Live Voicemail completely because otherwise my custom greeting didn’t work and I’d receive zero voicemails. Once I disabled Live Voicemail and restarted my phone, I am now getting voicemails through my carrier and am notified via text message, but my iPhone’s visual voicemail doesn’t work anymore, the voicemails don’t show up and there are no transcripts either anymore. The ONLY thing that has changed in the past week is I updated to iOS 17.

Yourcright and as I posted above I did the same as you. And voicemail working too

How can you actually keep telling people to contact their cell phone provider when everyone has the same issue after the update and everyone has a different provider?

Because that’s how apple handles things. When I saw that, I said nope
