Bluetooth issues on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.0.3

Absolutely appreciate your point dco12vik. I can only diagnose and investigate my own issue with my car as I don’t have a connected keyboard.

However, your problem might point to the same root cause in that your keyboard will use most likely use a more basic low data rate Bluetooth connection like BLE, as opposed to A2DP used for higher data streaming.

Just like my old car that uses two different connection profiles for media and telephone. The media connection is through a more modern A2DP Bluetooth streaming device.

Andy, great hypothesis! I have always felt this was and is a software issue that they can't quite figure out. Apple of old would have never released a nonfunctional phone. Unfortunately, Apple like so many other companies is not hiring based on merit. Hence the many many issues with the last 2 iOS's.

Yes 2020 Dodge as well. Still all blue tooth earbuds, speakers, and BT adapters for motorcycle radio and headsets. All this started with iPhone 15PM. 13 was flawless with same systems and setups

iPhone 15 Bluetooth Issue

When listening to music from Spotify on bluetooth, the music cuts out intermittently. To ensure this was not an problem with my vehicle, I suffered the same problem in my other car as well.

I have taken my phone to the Genius Desk and done the following:

-Reinstalled Spotify

-Verified the music playing was actually downloaded to my phone.

-Erased my phone and re-installed the OS, twice. All updates have been applied.

-This issue does not occur when listening to music on the phone's speaker

-I have a 2016 Porsche Macan and 2015 Porsche Cayman

Just this week I have done exactly the same at the Apple Store, but with an iPhone 15 Pro, no Max.

It's over 4 months since I bought my phone.

I changed from Titanium to Black as well so there was more likely a difference.

Same poor BT performance for me.

And all of the pain of logging into dozens of apps again.

Is there a way of telling batch number or build of the iPhone?

How can anyone identify a "good one" so to speak?

I think you used to be able to decode the serial number to get year and week number amongst other things (colour, memory) but I don’t know if that’s still possible.

Only thing that’s readily available on the phone relates to the battery manufacture and first use date Sept 23 and Oct 23 respectively).

Same. Ever since I upgraded to the iPhone 15 plus my Bluetooth no longer automagically connects to my 2010 GMC Yukon, a non CarPlay system. I have unpaired and repaired multiple times but I still have the same problem. And sometimes it won’t connect until several tries later. It’s ridiculous as I have never had this problem before. But…sometimes it also happens in my daughter’s vehicle which has car play. I don’t know if it’s software related but Apple needs to fix this. I didn’t just pay for a new phone outright to have Bluetooth connectivity issues. Please develop a patch Apple.

Previously when I tested a couple of phone calls (making and recieving) on my new replacement phone from my stationary car it seemed that my new phone was working fine.

That was until I received a call whilst driving yesterday and after 30 or so seconds into the call it dropped the Bluetooth connection 🤦🏼‍♂️

Im going to have to do some more testing, apart from the phone switching from mast to mast while travelling I’m not sure what else would allow it to work while stationary but not when travelling 🤔

Back to square 1, looks like it’s not a hardware fault unless it effects all or most phones 🙄

This doesn’t really help anyone else here with anything, but my Bluetooth hasn’t worked with anything since I got this stupid phone (15 Pro) in October, except I can airdrop photos. It can’t find any Bluetooth devices whatsoever. No earbuds, no speakers, no car connection. It’s a worthless piece of junk I’m stuck with for years to come. Awesome.

Same problem on Mazda CX-9 2015.

Bluetooth connection is stable for Audio diffusion (no CarPlay, just standard audio via Bluetooth) but as soon as I have a phone call, Bluetooth disconnects after 40s as well…

I’ve also noticed that I don’t seem to have this issue with my 2013 Honda like I do on the 2012 Jeep so might be radio specific? On the Jeep just playing music seems to behave fine but anything with calls is unreliable and usually drops the connection.

Thanks for sharing Hoody007. Ticked off all your symptoms against my experience, so thank you for the detailed description and for confirming the disconnection timeout at circa 40 seconds.

Sometimes, it feels like you are the only one, so good that we are all affected in pretty much the same way, albeit some are also affected on BT devices other than cars, but I suspect this is the same problem manifesting - low data rate connections from a Hands Free Profile.

After the unsuccessful calls to support I've had so far, my tactic is to share as much as I can discover on this thread with everyone else, have people like yourself echo it, then phone Apple back, summarise the issues and point their engineers at the thread - let them sort it out.

Guys, except that it doesn’t apply to all instances, including mine and many others below.

my phone’s Bluetooth disengages as soon as I attempt a call.

and sometimes it performs normally for 3 or 4 minutes.

with the phone changeover, I was granted 6 months Apple Music subscription trial.

I gave it a go o er the weekend.

successful performance for about 20 minutes.

then the Bluetooth connection shut down all together.

I wish it was as simple as the 40 second factor.

My 15 Pro has not been able to find any Bluetooth devices (to even attempt to connect) since I got it in October. It is a piece of crap and I'm getting madder by the minute, reading all of these connection issues so many are having and Apple is doing nothing.

Mine is a 2013 BMW 320d Coupe.

My Bluetooth audio is also fine for music or TomTom navigation, as soon as it switches to the phone it cuts out. All starting to make sense now… when will Apple start to take notice and address the issue?
