problem accessing frontier.com email

Have had frontier.com email address for years and have had it as only email account on Mail on my MacBook Air. A few days ago, my MacBook would not load any emails or send any. I have restarted computer, removed the email account from Mail. I tried adding it back and after several minutes get a message saying Mail is unable to verify account name or password. When I go directly to frontier.com I have no problem accessing my email account. How can I get my Mail app to recognize my frontier.com email?

It has been 4 days for me, thought it might blow over as things do. Called today and Frontier said everything was set up correctly. I tried a different mail app on my imac and it had the same problem as mail... could not verify the username or password with the correct settings. So don't think it's an application problem. Not sure where to look next.
