Why is fitness/friends sharing not showing on my watch since update (all friends show 0 activity/steps)?

iPhone 17.0.3

watch 10.0.1

After updates, fitness sharing did not work at all (all shared friends’ steps and activity showed 0)

Yesterday their activity started showing on my phone but still 0 on my watch. So no notifications for their activity.

Only one day off activity shows on iPhone since update instead of the week that previously showed.

Need to get activity showing on watch!

Also sun rise and set time not showing on watch either.

I was losing my mind with this issue. A few weeks ago I suddenly had this happen with my Watch 8. My fitness friends went missing on my watch (but they were there on my phone). I no longer got their activity notifications and on my friends’ end, they also stopped getting notifications of my activities and my rings for them all had zeros. I FINALLY figured out that in the Watch App on my iPhone, it signed me out of my Apple ID. (Apparently having the watch paired with the phone isn’t enough.) Try going into the General settings of the Watch App and then Apple ID. When I went into it, it had a message asking me to sign in. Once I did that suddenly all my fitness friends appeared again in my watch and we started getting notifications with each other again. My friends also accurately see my ring status. So if you have zeros from your friends I would also have them try this. The problem could well be on both ends.

Same issue. Shared people were showing on the iPhone fitness app but not on the actual watch. We could remove and re add shared people and it would display the current stats but never update. After trying everything, called support and found out that my Apple ID was not associated with the watch. (Even though it appeared to be). They were able to associate the Apple ID and now everything appears to be working correctly.

Looks like I fixed my daughters yesterday with apples help

1. Check your personal details are correct in your health app profile.

2. Make sure the watch band is snug but not too tight.

3. On your iPhone, go to Settings, then tap on Privacy and then select Location Services option and ensure that it is enabled.

4. On the Location Services section, tap on System Services and then toggle the Motion Calibration & Distance option to enable it.

5. Then go back to the Home Screen of your iPhone and launch the Watch app.

6. Then, tap on My Watch option, then tap on Privacy and toggle the Heart Rate option to enable it.

7. Go back to My Watch section, then tap on Passcode, and toggle the Wrist Detection option to enable it.

1 On the iPhone, open the Watch app.

2 Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Privacy > Reset Fitness Calibration Data.

So what I have found is that when upgrading to the new phone 15 and you have the “focus” or “ do not disturb” setup on a schedule, it does not carry over to the new phone correctly. It remains on the entire time. So check yours and whoever’s you are sharing with and verify the focus is turned off. I completely removed the schedule and created a new one and had my partner do the same. It seems to be sharing now at least. Still doesn’t let me view breakdowns of past days like it used to though.

Hope this helps since Apple never does

Problem solved (is there a moon at the top of your screen?)

If you’re running the same versions as me by chance (iPhone and watch listed in my post), what JJSRC said worked for me.

Mine still is not showing the sunset/sunrise times (dashes only too) but my fitness sharing is working now. I had already turned both devices off and on but did it again when that was the recommended answer and it suddenly worked!

Good luck

Double check it, this usually transfers the data at that moment but will not continue to sharing or “update”. I am positive the problem is that you have it in “do not disturb” on your focus. I have gotten mine to work again by making sure to remove any schedule I had setup prior to getting the new phone. Once done it should work and you can create a new schedule that won’t interfere.

So please go back and read the comments, I am one of those guys that has been on support (**** I even sent a letter in which they replied by email stating they won’t communicate that way), and turned the “DND” off and still had problems. There is more to just turning it off, you have to delete every schedule you had setup. Thats where the glitch is. Also, have the people that are not “sharing” correctly do the same. Problem fixed.
