Why is fitness/friends sharing not showing on my watch since update (all friends show 0 activity/steps)?

Looks like I fixed my daughters yesterday with apples help

1. Check your personal details are correct in your health app profile.

2. Make sure the watch band is snug but not too tight.

3. On your iPhone, go to Settings, then tap on Privacy and then select Location Services option and ensure that it is enabled.

4. On the Location Services section, tap on System Services and then toggle the Motion Calibration & Distance option to enable it.

5. Then go back to the Home Screen of your iPhone and launch the Watch app.

6. Then,tap on My Watch option, then tap on Privacy and toggle the Heart Rate option to enable it.

7. Go back to My Watch section, then tap on Passcode, and toggle the Wrist Detection option to enable it.

2 Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Privacy > Reset Fitness Calibration Data. 

If your friend sends you an invitation, you can still send them one as well, even if they’re already on your Sharing list. You do this by going to Sharing, the Invite a Friend icon in the top right, and then Invite a Friend, look for your friend, tap on their name and then tap on Send. This should establish two-way data sharing. Basically, both individuals need to invite each other regardless of who initiates.

I was having the same issue. After restarting my watch and phone about 3 times in a row, my sharing finally came back.

Try changing your watch on name. Then powering off both the watch and phone. Waiting a few mins and then it should reappear.

Thanks. This was the issue since I moved to new iphone. After I signed in, it started working.

This has to be a major bug. I stopped getting notifications in my phone for my sister’s activities and when I go into the app it just displays -/-

i see a lot of other users covering similar issues but I don’t see any Apple response except to restart phone and watch. That doesn’t work!

That won’t work either. Double check that you don’t have focus turned on. Is there a moon at the top of your screen?

Pretty major bug in watchOS 10.x and iOS 17.x. I haven't gotten any notifications for any friend's activities since updating months ago. I've disabled/enabled notifications for them, I've unpaired and re-paired them as friends only to see their stuff for a day and then have it be completely blank the next morning, and of course restarted the phone and watch multiple times. We're now at the x.2 tick for these OSs and the bugs remain.

This is exactly the case with mine. I have a few friends sharing activity with each other. I am able to see few friends' activity. However, there is one person whose activity shows the first day, next day onwards it shows --/--, they remove and add it back, I can again see only one day and next day again it doesn't show. Looks like iOS version incompatibility.

I am on iPhone 14 pro max with iOS 17.4, watch Ultra 2 on 10.3.1.

How did they associate the Apple ID to the watch? What steps did they take?

Nope. I've tried everything that people've posted, and nothing works. Including the last three software updates since I originally replied. Apple has a very long and infamous history of not acknowledging any bugs until they have a fix for them, with very rare exceptions.

My phone has not been showing my friends fitness activity for the past 3 days since 17 update. All of a sudden it’s just dashes. I restarted my watch and phone but still the same. Is this an isolated or widespread issue? When will it be resolved or do I need to do anything at this point? We compete and motivate each other daily so I do miss not being able to do so. Should I wait until the next update for it to reappear? Thank you

Yes I’ve turned both on and off several times and still the same. I was hoping it fixed itself but apparently not. I don’t want to remove and re-invite everyone. I may need to call them since I don’t know what else to do. Thank you,

I reset my wife’s watch and gifted it to my daughter. She has been doing workouts. On the first day it shares, but the following day it stays at zero. When I remove and add I see the current amounts but the following day it always resets and remains at zero. Absolutely annoying. Same with my father in law something about the apple id
