Why is fitness/friends sharing not showing on my watch since update (all friends show 0 activity/steps)?

I’m not sure if I understand you. The invitation to share should work both ways. I’ve a friend who sent me an invitation and both are able to see each other’s workout. But is not working with one other friend. Only they can see mine, I cannot see their’s. If either one sends an invitation and is accepted, it doesn’t show another / separate invitation to send. How did you both send separate invitations to each other?

If your friend sends you an invitation, you can still send them one as well, even if they’re already on your Sharing list. You do this by going to Sharing, the Invite a Friend icon in the top right, and then Invite a Friend, look for your friend, tap on their name and then tap on Send. This should establish two-way data sharing. Basically, both individuals need to invite each other regardless of who initiates.

You’re acting as though we having tried that and don’t know about do not disturb. Most do. Changing it has not worked. I’m surprised it worked for you. I share with three people and vice-versa. Only one sees and can see my stuff, the rest are completely zero. The issue is not not getting notifications because of DND, it’s also that when we go into the Fitness application and go to look at the people, it shows completely zero activity. That’s not a DND issue.

How did they associate the Apple ID to the watch? What steps did they take?

Has anyone seen an official Apple acknowledgment of or response to this issue? I get so tired of software "updates" breaking things...

I cannot see activities from my friends ..have been trying to sort this issue for 2 weeks now , hope someone can help me ..

I don't think so, I think it's software. It stopped working for me last October with the watcOS 10 and iOS 17. I've had the same phone/watch for 2+ years, and it worked when I got 'em.

my friends don't show on watch at all but they are on the fitness app on the iPhone. I've done the update on iPhone and watch and unpaired and paired after updates. No luck

That won’t work either. Double check that you don’t have focus turned on. Is there a moon at the top of your screen?

Correct they haven’t been any help to my FIL who has the same issue.

I did notice my daughter had multiple contacts of herself and her mother, with the name mixed up on some and went through and re did them. Thought that may have fixed it but she had to re request me to see my data this morning so doesn’t appear so.

This has to be a major bug. I stopped getting notifications in my phone for my sister’s activities and when I go into the app it just displays -/-

i see a lot of other users covering similar issues but I don’t see any Apple response except to restart phone and watch. That doesn’t work!

Problem solved (is there a moon at the top of your screen?)

So what I have found is that when upgrading to the new phone 15 and you have the “focus” or “ do not disturb” setup on a schedule, it does not carry over to the new phone correctly. It remains on the entire time. So check yours and whoever’s you are sharing with and verify the focus is turned off. I completely removed the schedule and created a new one and had my wife do the same. It seems to be sharing now and has been for a couple weeks now. Still doesn’t let me view breakdowns of past days like it used to though.
