iOS 17.0.3 Issues

Hey all! I’ve been having a lot of issues on iOS 17.0.3. For reference I have a iPhone 11 and did not have any of these issues on previous iterations of iOS 17. I’ll list some of the issues below.

• Unresponse touch screen (lag and delays)

• Apps unresponsive (freezing & crashing)

• Keyboard lag (I’ll start typing but it takes the phone a few seconds to catch up)

• Stutter when opening app (when I’m switching between apps, there’s a split second of stutter - I want to say this existed in iOS 15 or 16?)

• Paste/select menu does not always pop up… I have to keep pressing on the screen to get the prompt

Anyone else having issues? Feel free to share any other issues you’ve come across. Thanks!

Common Reports:

Everything you've mentioned is commonly reported for iOS17.0.3, particularly after the update it installed on an iPhone 14 or iPhone 15. So, you'll have to wait it out, until more updates are provided...

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

also regretting the update to 17.0.3 (even though it's been approved by IT department)

-screen turns black for no reason

-unresponsive and huge lag

-battery drain is the worst - a 5min phone call and my phone screen turns black. only to reappear with a message that battery is below 10% to go to battery save mode

-battery surprise: jump from red battery status back to yellow

-trying to roll back from my iPhone back-up, but it doesn't roll-back the iOS version :(

"The only way to reinstall an older version of iOS is to wipe the current one from your device. This also means that if you restore from a backup made after the update you will be putting the newer version of iOS back on to the device.Sep 20, 2023"

Abrar_abu,even when I had iOS 16 there have been small glitches. I have 17.0.3 now and it still happens here and there. Whenever things start acting funny I do this: fast press volume up-fast press volume down- press and HOLD in power button don’t let go till Apple logo comes on screen release it and wait for ph prompt swipe up and punch in passcode. This is an Apple suggested hack to reboot I ph. I think the phones are over engineered by the geeks at Apple even if you are brilliant it’s to many digital artifacts floating round out there never goes away and they keep coming up with bug fixes to fix last fix. Good luck to us all but this little hack does work and I use it ALL the time. Whats next Apple?^>>%<>%= spoofs.

Hi! I've been experiencing the same issues on my iPhone 11, especially the unresponsive lockscreen and the phone randomly freezing! This started to happen right after my phone atumatically updated overnight and since then every morning when I use it, it crashes. Today it crashed twice. I'm so annoyed by this situation but glad to see that I'm not alone in this! Hope they'll come up with a fix ASAP because I can't trust my phone now!

I don't usually post on forums and such, but for the first in the years I've had an Iphone I'm having issues with slowness, especially with messages. Also with screen sharing on Facetime. It is very slow and freezes. It's even worse when I try to post a gif or record a voice message. I've tried everything, but it lags ALOT. Too much. Please fix! I have an Iphone 12.

This is nothing new for me. Exactly 1 year ago my IPad Air 4 after that January update started shutting down constantly for no apparent reason. I contacted Apple support and they started to put the blame to possible some program installed is the problem. That issue lasted for around 2 months then suddenly started working normally.

Once I updated to IOS 17 the same issue with shutting down started again.I installed 17.2 hopping for a fix but didn’t happen. Now with IOS 17.3 I have the same shutdowns like before. Battery sometimes gets so hot that I have to shut it down myself. I had since I installed iOS 17 over 1 thousand shutdowns. Is pretty much unusable for anything.

Probably this is a way for Apple to trash my battery/Ipad and go and buy a new IPad. Once the issue if fixed if it ever will I will never install another update. Just the security update will be on.I am very disappointed in Apple. My iPhone didn’t give any shutdowns only battery drain like every one has.

I also have been having problems with the upgrade since I did it this morning. My financial institution uses my phone to confirm my identity before I can log onto their website on my Mac. But after my face is recognized by the phone and I get the green check mark, the website of Mac locks. I did a restart on both the Mac and iphone and it did it again. I called the bank and they say they don't know why but that my phone has always worked to open their website in the past. We will not update my wife's iphone so we can use it to open the financial accounts.
