Is it boot back up on its own afterwards? If so, I’d say you’re stuck in a boot loop. Use my User Tip: How to Fix an iPhone in a Boot Loop - Apple Community

Just FYI, Apple does not and never has supported "rolling back" versions of iOS.

Most users have not seen any of the issues you report, so I would recommend you contact Apple Support directly:

Ditto! This iOS update ruined my iPad. The latest problem is that I can't connect to my wifi. I have tried shutting it down and restarting it... nothing. Prior to this latest issue, it kept crashing on me and had the unresponsive touch screen issues. The battery drains faster, it had the keyboard lag, and since I can't connect to wifi, it won't check for updates anymore. I am SERIOUSLY disgusted with this update. My ipad is virtually useless unless I can figure something out.

17.0.3 iOS is terrible; full of bugs. Txt Msg freeze up periodically for no reason. Auto correct gives jibberish or nonsense corrections. Something had changed with the audio processing & levels. Call audio will periodically breaks up routinely now.

You can’t get cursor to always stay put or in the right place in an edit.

It’s just awful; not a good Apple representation. We’ve got 2 Apple iPhone XR phones a 64 & 128 memory versions & both are doing the above and my son has an iPhone 12 with similar problems!

Yes! I have an iPhone 11 Pro and it has been freaking out ever since downloading the most recent update. I’m experiencing all the same problems you are - plus my phone freezes every time my alarm goes off in the morning and it won’t let me turn it off.

I have had to restart my phone almost every day because it keeps freezing.

I was late to work this morning because my phone decided to go into one of the lag/nonresponsive thing they do in this iOS. I legitimately couldn’t shut off my phone for about 30 min of trying. My logins for work and everything relies on my phone so getting logged into work was really challenging.

This has been an ongoing issue with 17. The other big warning is when the camera and other apps won’t stay open when you try to use them.

When an iOS on an iPhone 13 can keep your alarm from working to wake you is just hard to swallow. Thank goodness my boss is forgiving.

It's normal for your battery use to be higher for a few days after an update as your phone needs to rebuild all of its internal databases.

Bluetooth does use battery.

Regardless, the current version of iOS as I write is 17.2.1, not 17.0.3.

Apparently iOS 17.1 is in RC (release candidate) so I suppose they will deploy very soon patches that probably will help us all ;-)

I have also been having a lot of issues with apps crashing. Specifically FaceTime crashing when I try to screen share.

Sure it's been mentioned plenty of times of these forums. Question is: "Just how many people have reported it to Apple?"

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary

Thanks for sharing this. I have been having similar issues. I have reported the bugs including the fact that the phone app is freezing and may be a major issue for dialing 911! Hoping this is escalated asap. I am not sure what criteria the iOS has to meet for general release. Just thinking they need to raise the bar as these issues should not be happening.

This release is a texting nightmare disaster! So non intuitive forcing the user to leave the page to grab stuff to share. And if the user changes their mind after hitting the pluses button it only gets worse to close down the screen. What the heck are they thinking? What an absolute disaster!! Friction is everywhere for for the user!!!

I also have app freezing and crashing. The iPhone11Pro gets also unusually hot (even without the cover). The OS is getting so slow that it becomes unusable. No access to the reboot shortcut (button) nor via setting general...

I'm having the same issues with my iPhone 11. Unresponse touch screen (lag and delays) and Apps unresponsive (freezing & crashing). Did not have any of these issues before updating to iOS 17. I can't even restart my phone
