iPhone 15 Pro Max Black Screen

I encountered the same just now, newly purchased a week ago. When I woke up and check the phone has black screen yet you will hear and feel it is on. I managed to power off using the buttons. As checked it has the latest update already of 17.1. What does Apple says about this issue?

I always leave my phone connected at work during the day as well.

but I only recollect this happening during night when asleep and realizing when I wake up.

is it same for you all?, could it be alarm causing this?

to add to my previous comment: I said Battery issues were less with the last update along with the black screen; Now battery issues back too 🙇‍♀️. This is terrible! I want to get rid of this iphone 15, should have waited at least half a year until they iron out the kinks .. only wrote one email and my last comment just now and battery charge down from 100 to 86

I was searching online for this issues and found that a lot of people have been experiencing the same problem as me. My iPhone was completely dead after an overnight charge. I can heard the buttons and feel the vibrations but the screen was completely black for the rest of the night last night. I hope apple fix this problem.

Phone went black AGAIN for the fourth time and I thought with this latest update 17.2.1 this would fixed the problem. Apple you are slacking on the quality of your phones. As much as public pays, I thought this would have been a fix by now. I’m just worried next, it won’t start up.

It just happened to me! In my attempts to “turn it back on,” I felt the strong vibrations to seemed to imply it wasn’t dead. As I continued, of course the siren sounded and I probably rang 911. After checking on my iPad, I found the forum and attempted several times to follow the directions. It took about 10-15 minutes of repetition to finally reach success. This really sucks! I kept reading that everyone hopes the next update will fix this. Me too!!!

My iphone 15 keeps doing this! This morning the alarm was going off but the screen wouldn’t light up so i could see where to turn it off. I started pressing all the buttons then it triggered some alarm and called 911…. I had to tell them so sorry was just trying to turn off my phone. Ugh! Ive had this phone less than a month!

Add me to, what appears, a growing list. Same thing happened just last night/this morning (April 22, 2024). Phone working fine, placed on charger before going to bed (at 1:30 AM--a mother's work is never done) and upon picking phone up at 8:00, screen black, won't open, won't do anything.

APPLE FIX THIS ISSUE, it's been going on FAR TOO LONG!!! Dating back, on this first page only, to OCTOBER, 2023.

Thank to jjoya0329 for typing in this fix. It worked, but THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN on a brand new phone especially (purchased in January 2024)

This just happened to me. I woke up this morning after leaving my phone charged overnight and it will not turn on. I can hear my charger making that sound and vibrating when I put in, and my ringer works. I tried resetting it but it wont turn on!

Unfortunately, there were the same issue in the morning and already iOS 17.1 T_T

I don't think its fixed because it happened to me last night and I'm on IOS 17.1

This is happening to my phone, it happened a week ago after I got my phone, and it happened again last night. i have reached out to apple support ad hopefully get a replacement.

Shouldnt they replace it with a brand new one? Mine was 13 days old.
