Google Apps don’t recognize my new iPhone

I got a new iPhone. Set up the new one from backup. Tried to open Google browser, Google Maps and Gmail app. Getting emails in the email app works. But when I try to sign in to the Google apps, the message says they don’t recognize my device. Then it directs me to open another Google App and type “yes”. So I’m caught in a loop of futility. The old phone is gone. I turned off two factor authentication on my lap top browser. Uninstalled the apps, powered off my phone, powered it on, reinstalled the app. Nothing changed. I still can’t log into any Google apps on my phone. And now I’m locked out until tomorrow. Ugh!
