iPhone 15 Pro Photos are Dark

Pictures are coming out darker after being taken with the front & back cameras. Compared with the iPhone 14 Pro & the iPhone 14's photo looks better. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing with their new iPhone 15s or knows the fix to this? This is frustrating since I need to take photos & videos for work.

The only way I can get my image to look the same in the photos app and elsewhere is to Go to Settings -> Photos-> and toggle OFF View Full HDR. This shows the image as you can expect it to look outside of the photo app when exporting. You just lose all the lovely HDR brightness and contrast. Still very disappointing.

To be honest, this is a general issue with iPhones. It’s present in my iPhone 12 and I’ve seen people talking about the same here from older models to now 15’s.

Now, apple 🍏 thinks they are best camera phones. In fact, iPhone is good only for taking videos. Photos aren’t that great. iPhone doesn’t recognise subjects in various scenarios and try to over process with their HDr. Hence making subjects darker in most photos. For fair skinned people this might not be issue. But for others this turns out to be a serious one as they become more darker than they already is. !!

I had a iPhone 11 and even that camera took better photos. The iPhone 15 pro is making my photos look grainy or very dark. I look 20 years older. So I tried the burst photos you hold the photo button and immediately swipe left and it stops this. But Apple HAVE TO change this because it looks awful. Only reason for getting this phone was the rave about the camera for it just to be awful!!!!!😤

I also have this issue, i opened a case with apple support and even sent in a screen recording of how the picture changes from before it’s taken to how dark and grainy it goes after. They escalated to the engineers and i received a call back today and was told that this is normal for the iPhone 15 pro max camera. So apparently we all just have phones with horrible camera’s. I do agree my 12 pro max took 100x better pictures and i do regret upgrading before i tested it out. SMH!

Hello! I have been following this thread for a few days, I am sooo disappointed with my camera and how the photos (particularly ones taken of my kids/people) darken and just look so generally terrible compared to how it looks in the window before I take them, I have called Apple also, the advisor screen shared with me and could see the difference between what I saw when I took the photo vs the resulting photo.. all she could suggest was waiting to see if a software update fixed the problem or downgrading to a previous model of phone.. I am so upset about this..! Where are you going to go from here?? Are we just supposed to accept this is our camera/quality of photos..?

If they replace it it’s going to be the same camera. This issue started with the iPhone 14 Pro. It’s how they have the settings/software programmed. Another iPhone 15 Pro is not going to change it or improve it. They would have to distribute a software update to fix the camera issue. It’s really a bummer considering the price we pay for these devices!

Hey, I posted yesterday but not sure if you’ve seen it but would love to know your thoughts please… i dont know if im just getting used to the bad quality but i think the pics look better after the phone has had a little time to process the image.. i took a pic and an hour later went to check it and it looked better… if you take a pic today, and check it in about an hour please could you confirm if its any better please?
